Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Be interesting to see if they have a sub par card as is the usual for recent Euro cards

Yeah i doubt they'll pull out all the stops for this one.
No ideas for the main event but I'd say Gustaffson in the co-main event is a dead cert. I wonder who he'll face though. Maybe Tito?

Will definitely consider going to this!

I just checked Ryanair....flights to stockholm around that weekend are only €16.99.
No flight out on the Friday though so it's either head over on the Thursday or on the Saturday of the event.

Saturday's also out as flight lands at 20:00 and knowing Ryanair the airport they use for Stockholm is probably about 800 miles from City Centre

I didn't even notice that. So it'd have to be flying out on the Thursday and back on Sunday or something. Still not a bad price.
Plus there'll be Swedish women there. And if porn has taught me anything it's that I want to live in Sweden.

Nice flight back too as leaving 21:30 Sunday evening, gonna be VERY expensive over there though, you're looking at a tenner a pint

That's a bit steep alright. And if thats the prices for drink I'd imagine the accomodation is expensive too. Might be better to hold off for a different European UFC event in that case.

You're right on the airport front, 107km outside Stockholm.

    Two fights so far:
    Papy Abedi vs. James Head
    DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire

Yeah I flew into Stockholm with Ryanair previously, was about two hours I think on the bus from the airport.
Drink can be expensive, food is about the same prices as here, but fairly large portions.
Accommodation tends to be high standard, I was staying at a hostel so it was pretty cheap.
Gorgeous city, really nice to wander around and people there tend to be polite at the minimum.
    Also, lot of Irish bars.

Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara – UFC on Fuel 2
    brian-stann.jpg

It seems a middleweight fight has been added to the main card of UFC on Fuel 2, with Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara booked to punch it out in Sweden.

The news of the fight was announced by Swedish site MMANytt

A former U.S Marine, Brian Stann (11-4-0) is a former WEC light heavyweight champion, defeating Doug Marshall for the belt in 2008, before losing it to Steve Cantwell in his next bout. He has fought Cantwell three times in his career to date, winning twice.

Stann very nearly made it to a middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva recently, but lost to Chael Sonnen by a second round arm-triangle choke. This is on the back of a string of wins over Jorge Santiago, Chris Leben and Mike Massenzio.

Italian boxer turned mixed martial artist, Alessio Sakara (15-8-0-1nc) has been with the UFC since 2005, making his debut against Ron Fairclough – a fight that ended in a no-contest due to a low blow. Sakara has since defeated Elvis Sinosic, Victor Valimaki, James Lee, Joe Vedepo, Thales Leites and James Irvin.

He was last seen in March of last year, where he lost a decision to the highly touted Chris Weidman.

UFC on Fuel 2 takes place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14th. The card also features two welterweight bouts featuring John Maguire taking on DaMarques Johnson and Papy Abedi versus James Head.

Oh no. I'm sure that this means we'll have to put up with more Akira Corassani.

Even after losing to Sonnen I'd have though Stann was still ranked well ahead of Sakara, very little for him to gain from it. An updated card from Wiki below, take with a pinch of salt as always but has a few sources on it.

Alexander Gustafsson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Welterweight bout: Papy Abedi vs. James Head[3]
Middleweight bout: Magnus Cedenblad vs. Francis Carmont[4]
Light Heavyweight bout: Jörgen Kruth vs. Cyrille Diabaté[5]
Welterweight bout: Besam Yousef vs. Simeon Thoresen[6]
Welterweight bout: DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire[7]
Middleweight bout: Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara[8]

Anyone heard what time this will be at? Is it a tape delay in America just?

Update: Card is airing live in America, 9pm local time.

Alexander Gustafsson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Where did you hear/read this? Would be a good test for Gustafsson

When I posted, it was on the Wiki page for the event with a source but it's now gone. Would be an interesting test for sure.

Looking like Paulo Thiago could be welocming Siyar Badrhizarra (excuse the spelling) to the UFC at this event. Really really excited to see Siyar fight in the UFC. That'd be a sick fight

Dennis Siver vs Ross Pearson added. Shaping up to be a solid card, especially by European standards.
