Róisin Dubh is always lively http://roisindubh.net/

As is The Front Door, not sure about weekends but during the week it's usually packed.

Both would suit that demographic, I think.

Edit: somehow forgot about Massimos, another great place for the slightly older crowd.

As a person in the 21-25 year old group i'd go to (in order of preference):

    Pubs:

Kellys - Decent pub, good music, give the bouncers a hello and smile
The Front Door - Usually packed at weekends, bouncers can be dickheads so try to look sober.
    Buskers Brownes - Excellent music
    The Quays - Traditional music
Skeff - Good band in there sometimes, bouncers can be a bit of a pain, nice cocktails
The King's Head - Good band in there too some nights

    Nightclubs:

CP's - About €10 in, you could get a stamp on Shop St if they're around, drinks expensive
Karma - You can get a stamp on Shop St, pints - €5 each
Halo - €14 entrance on a Saturday night, older crowd

There is often a Q outside Front Door and then when you get in, the place is not full. Grrrr

Beware Busker Brownes...it's an acquired taste. It attracts a very certain crowd of brown noses

True but when they have that jazz band in it has an incredible atmosphere!

As much as I don't like CP's they've actually reduced all pints to 3.50 (fosters and bav 3 euro) while all shots are also 3.50, so fair play to them in that regard.
