If it's true then it's cynical and manipulative for a company to ban internet access for employees except for a discussion forum for posing as normal users but with an agenda of countering negative publicity. Shills is the word no ? It's the sort of thing pro-Israeli lobby and advocacy groups do. Name and shame ! Boards admins should seriously look into this development imo.

It's not a development, as you say, shills, it's been going on all the time, they usually stand out clearly.

The concept of Shills is not a new development, the fact that this major company has now (allegadly) started to engage in it - is.

If your going to correct grammar and spelling on Boards, try not to f*ck it up yourself ;)

    Yes, exactly.

I don't know what this bit in bold really represents either:

    ""If it's any comfort there, .< > getting a 20%"

I understand what he was trying to do, but it means nothing.

OP, I understand you can't mention the name of the company, but could you point us in the direction of some examples on Boards of your colleagues counteracting bad publicity, so we can discover it ourselves?

    It's ryanair though, isn't it?

If people were 1/2 foot tall, how many of them could Micky Leary fit onto a ryanair flight?

    Sorry I can't !
It would be wrong to do it and a lot of people would be in serious trouble if it got out .

I work for a company who get a lot of stick here "most of it justified " I've noticed lately that a lot of the office staff are alloud on boards even though using the Internet at work is banned .
When I asked one of the girls about this she told me that they where
" encouraged " to counteract any bad publicity .
    Any thoughts ???
My thoughts are that if you're paid to interact with people in a written medium, you should learn english.

Wouldent there tails get run over by the carts there pulling ???
Or maybe you where referring to Manx cats ?

Normal cats could pull carts too. The human riding the cat would just have to keep rubbing it so that it's tail and the back half of its body stay up out of the way.

Oh yeah, and to those of you who think it's 3, I PMed them on here three days ago and still have no reply. So it's definitely not them!!

See this post? This is the kind of thing that drives me bananas.

Did you mean, "If it's any comfort there, .< > getting a 20% pay cut next month" (with someone, not mentioned, getting a pay cut)

    or

"If it's any comfort, they're (nameless) getting a pay curt next month"?

If you're (not "your) using the written word to communicate, then get it right, eh? Otherwise you end up looking like the subjects of the Facebook-status thread.
My thoughts are that if you're paid to interact with people in a written medium, you should learn english.

Why is everyboby such a grammer and spelling nazi these days? Jeez, we all make mistakes. Big f*cking whoop!!

You have got the wrong end of the stick. It's not just about mistakes, it's about not caring about the written form of communication. It's so much better to have it written correctly than to have to try and decipher some gobbledegook. That said, there is no excuse for the basic errors that crop up far too frequently.

The opinion of someone who cannot differentiate between their, there, they're, your, you're etc, is easy to ignore.

To be frank, it bothers me too when people may obvious mistakes, most of the time it's a once off typo but when it's the same thing over and over it does get to you.

Having said that, no need to make a big deal out of the little things...

.... which I'm doing now arrrgghhh  :pac:

Pardon my ignorance but what's a "shill" ?

    See below:
A shill, plant or stooge is a person who helps a person or organization without disclosing that he or she has a close relationship with that person or organization.

    Source is here

I dont think its true, but its still a very endearing image. If only that poor dwarf had read this thread, it could have been a cat waiting to come on stage, and he'd still be alive. Sad really.

Why is everyboby such a grammer and spelling nazi these days? Jeez, we all make mistakes. Big f*cking whoop!!

Because the meanings can be totally different. And one forms an opinion of people who don't make mistake but use there instead of their and so on.

Mistakes n typos are something else.
