Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads, I have a milk cooling tank that I need to move on. Problem is I know nothing about these and don't want to get roasted on the price. It's a Packo but I cant see a capacity on it. Measurements are approx six and a half feet long four feet wide and three feet high, it's a half barrel shape and in good condition. Any estimate on it's value would be appreciated and where would I go to sell. Thanks again.

sounds like a 800 gallon tank . how old is it , there should be a label on it showing age, size, serial number

The label is very hard to make out but the tank is no more than five years old maybe a bit less even.

I'd suggest holding on to it for another couple of years, post 2015 there is going to be a burst of dairy farming expansion, scrap stainless steel will be worth more.

Your tank could be used by someone as a second tank, or your type of tank could be cut in half, and have a new section welded in to increase it's capacity.

There's a few numbers on it

    OM/DX 1000
    E9321 1/96
    10D1210 30
    12

    22

Anyone have an idea of it's value?

it could be a 1000 gallon made in 1996 and the next bit could be a serial number the 22 is the type of gas it runs on , i could be wrong about this

it's approx 2m x 1.2m x 1m, thats 2.4metres cubed, 2,400 litres, and thats without allowing for the barrel shape. I reckon at the most it is 450 gallons? Are you sure the dimensions are correct OP?

That would explain the OM/DX 1000 as in 1000 litres, as to the value scrap over £200 sterling
