Wouldn't be a car for me!

Would you consider 6 owners excessive? My gte mk2 cortina had 20 back in the day!(1991 back in nz where the average age of cars on the road is way older than here)

That wouldn't have anything to do with having to WOF(Nct) your car every 6 months

Probably more no celtic tiger equivalent there and don't think cars rust as badly as here. Six month checks keep the old cars safer. IMO

Assuming there's nothing major wrong with her, that's brilliant bangernomics. Joyless, yes, but cheap as chips motoring in a car that has a very good reliability record.

    Almera already sold.

    Only on donedeal :)

I put up a car with serious issues on it last year and the phone started ringing immediately. Car was sold in minutes and I handed over the keys within the hour

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,248 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

Bought it, washed it, added €150 to the price tag?

Don't have time to scour the net for old ads but something tells me that's the case with this one...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,032 ✭✭✭Jimbob 83

NCT until 2013, Ford V6 and €425 asking. Not sure how serious the coolant leak is though...

Could be anything from a stat housing to the rad, if it hasn't been cooked it wouldn't be too bad. Impossible (practically) to know if it's got a cooking or not though.

That steering wheel is very Saab-esque and those seats look like nicer sofas than in my sitting room.

But, a coolant leak in a 2.5 v6 Mondeo, meh.

Sambucus - 6 mth WoF keeps old cars safe, or a moneymaker for the Govt ??
Would it be worth importing Mercs/BM's/Audis from Irl to NZ. Remember the 'personal baggage' tax-free on cars from Japan - that still the case ?

Rover James - re Diesel v's Petrol. IMO any money 'saved' on diesel ('more economical' :p) is cancelled out by
    1) the way some of them are driven - foot to the floor at times
    2) the extra servicing / new diesel pumps required etc etc
    3) the extra price they command when buying them
Nah, I'll keep buying petrol because OVERALL, they're cheaper to run :D:D

2002 Maxima, €1k asking, 154k miles. NCT 01/13 Tax 12/12, Colour is not to my liking but otherwise looks a good solid car for the money.

Always fancied them. This one is an ex-taxi. If the mileage is genuine I wouldn't mind though.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

4 X TSW 16 spoke 17" alloy wheels with very good tyres

Looks to me like the tracking is off and there is uneven wear on these "very good tyres".

I wouldn't know what to look for other than coolant leaking out, but I thought if you got a reasonably cheap fix out of it, it could be a bargain V6.

It's definitely a Ford Steering wheel but the seats look divine! As said above a cheap fix could make it a nice car. I dunno shure the NCT and price/V6 combo kinda attracted me.

I wouldn't care if the tracking was off on a car with an asking price of €425. :)

I'm not that bothered about it, I just find it strange to make a claim of very good tyres in the ad and then put up a photograph of a tyre that needs to be replaced

Seems like good value but there's bound to be something wrong with it at that price. No information on tax or NCT either but seems like an alright buy.
