jaysus thank god i managed to get a used one from polish breaker for 150 euro back then, dealer charges are really savage!
Could have been an Irish Breaker - what makes you say he was polish.....:P
Yeah, well the owner was the one who went to a dealer, so hence the prices listed.

Christ, I'm glad I'm not buying that car now.......

Just as long as the timing belt has been done recently, it should have been done every 3 years on a low miles car like that.

Done at 48k according to the 1st pic.

9k miles ago on a car that's averaged little more than 4k miles a year, that's why I said recently. Maybe it's done the 9k in the last year on which case it's hunky dory for 2 years and 27k miles. If it's maintained a steady average with miles over the years, then you're looking at doing the belts within the year. If it's only done 3k per year for the last 3, I wouldn't even test drive it.

Long tax and test. Barura's gonna have a hard on..:pac:
800 bills? Nah, feck that. Most I've spent on a Polo was 650 and that didn't have NCT.

    Something like this:

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2902130

Edit: Okay, didn't see the tax, but about 320? IDK.

Get it for 275 and wire in a switch to the starter motor, pretty cheap motoring there. Tax and NCT on it too.

Some tax, some test, a lot of fun if there was a bit of give on the price

Lovely little motor. Gear stick always looked like a little 5 wood sticking out of the ground:)

Sounds about right to me. But plenty of chancers selling polos and corsas with magical powersteering that doesn't use hydraulics or electrics ;-)

I bought a car for 2.4k, and a friend pointed out it was less than he paid for his bike!

I bought my push bike for €1200 and my car for €1600.. So the bike, the bike rack & a tank of fuel doubles the value of the car with that logic smile.gif

I had an early 97 Polo (registered in February 1997 if memory serves correctly) and it had power steering. The OH is learning to drive an 96 Micra which does not have power steering, however in a car that size it's not really noticeable.

That is not bad. My bike is actually more expensive than my car and with the saddle bag it goes out of proportion :).
The bike does not cost any less in maintenance (per distance covered). And the fuel for the bike is not cheaper either, but who cares ;).

    fap fap indeed.

I quite liike the idea of that 406 Coupe, thing is, I'm quite familiar with the housing estate that car is in, and I've never seen that car there.
No changes of ownership on motortax.ie though.
