Seemed a wee bit rich to me!

Has any of you lads invested in a Laguna? I wouldn't be a fan, but the 02 and 03 1.6p ones look to be well priced. I've seen a few with decent tax and test too.

I'd love that yoke. But then again I'm a head banger.400 quid tops though.

i had a 99 e11 before with a similarly awful interior trim... but it was swirls not diamonds pattern, there was some real shockers on offer at the time it has to be said.

    still, cant bate a 4e :)

In fairness the interior in those was far better in terms of quality than the current corolla which has a very cheap nasty interior.

Just looking at it, the wipers are mutilated to take standard blades. They normally take a refill strip

Common fault is the gearbox. Like hens teeth in scrap yards. Buyer beware, first thing to look out for on the Laguna.

Not the best of cars but asking price isn't too bad, 12 months NCT, was tested last September...

Only two months test but 6 months tax (1.1 so not worth a whole lot anyway), €1100 asking price is negotiable. If it checked out an offer of €500 might be enough to test their resolve :pac:

That car has had a tip at some stage in it's life. The headlights and bumper are from the pre facelift model.

Had a couple of 2.5TT's, 1JZ-GTE. Always wanted the 4.0 litre, but couldn't bring myself to pay the roadtax! :o
If I ever get around to it, I'll definitely get one and throw a supercharger on it.

Nah you wouldnt, because if there was no exorbitant *MOTOR* tax, the cars would not depreciate so much

    Thanks.

Can be good value if one chooses carefully

"Oh Saab has gone wallop, I'll never get bits for one again" also led to panic selling

Most of he Saabs here are petrol, a burden to most in the modern diesel economy we live in

It's easy to get stung if you don't know what to look out for...

There are some fantastic Saab bargains out there, and I'm leaning towards one myself, mainly the 95 Aero HOT. Lovely car, but if it whines or sounds like a diesel, run!

On a €400 car? Meh. Just drive it for 4 months, NCT it.

Best case scenario -> keep driving it or sell it for twice what you paid for it :D

Worst case scenario -> sell it for scrap...

And then buy your next bangernomics...

Absolutely agree, wouldn't bother with anything like that tbh. Pretty cheap motoring right there if it's not a total sh1tbox.

If there is a good service history with fully synth oil changes, that one could prove to be a winner. Looks well minded and there's a new NCT (done early - always a good sign too in my book). Surely he'll take 1200 for it.

Most of them have been modded beyond repair so they just end up in the skanger mobiles thread:p

That said, when they're not modded too much I quite like them. But I heard they like their juice

No thirstier than a Saab 95 or 318i though? And probably a lot less spent on repairs. A good example would suit a low miler , maybe an LPG conversion would be the answer?

TBH I don't know about the MPG on the Saab or BMW I just remember when I was 16/17 a lad around here was driving one and got rid of it because it ate through his wallet in fuel. Then again he had an induction kit, dust bin exhaust and was quiet keen on the peddle on the right so probably his own downfall.
