Wouldn't bother me if either of them were NCT'd to 2020 and taxed for 10 years, I'd rather use the bus or cycle than drive those yokes.

    1300 for a bmw worth 700 isn't bangernomics.

i know everybody is e30 crazy these days but come on... its bottom spec and has the smallest lump of the lot. Typical irish madness.

Acknowledged on the small lump and basic spec.

My thinking was its a nice unmolested looking E30. A rare thing in Ireland these days.
If, and its a big if, it is as good as it looks, I stand over my decision to put it up on this thread.
If this was picked up for, say, €1,100 I think its a decent buy.

I think that e30 would be a very good buy. Classic insc, low tax makes it a viable second car. With lower cc's comes lower running costs. And it is a desirable 3 door, in what seems to be excellent condition.

Definate bargain, fecking outstanding bangernomics, way better than any tired bloaty saab or 728.

Plus the whole idea of bangernomics is getting all , or more of your money back in a years time.

Why would it need all that (chain and rear suspension) after 112k miles?
I'm told that i'm not a great photographer but wtf is up with the night photos?

Looks like he forgot to wipe the vaseline off the lens, or his hands, one or the other.

In my experience night time photos usually means the seller wants the car sold that evening...... Take what you want from that.

A red sky at night is a shepards delight? Or is it a funny looking bonnet? Fair cop, never spotted.

If she will pass the NCT, why didnt they do it then, and if the tax disc is "lost", there is no tax on it then:p.

    Some sellers eh!

That annoys me too. What qualifies somebody to say "no test but will fly through"....to the best of my knowledge a garage will not even absolutely guarntee you that a car will pass a NCT if you take it along for a pre NCT and they prepare it for the test.

Still though having said that at €190 you wont go too far wrong with the Escort. If it fails the test miserably you will get back at least €130 if you sell it on for scrap metal;)

Not just a cheap scrap yard replacement either! That's got a bang of proud owner screaming out from under the 18 layers of turtlewax.

Also I could be wrong but I think I seen that car being sold at either MME auctions or the one in tallaght a few months back.

Well, normally I would agree but for 180 bucks, he just wants to get rid of it. H didn't even wash it. Who cares wheres the tax disk is? Of course there isn't any tax, it isn't worth taxing ( for him). I'd say new tyres for a start then look at suspension parts for the nct. It is 15 years old but it only has 70k on the clock. I think it's a great spot and a potential bangernomics winner !!

Correct me if i am wrong, but 1.6 isn't GT. 1.8 for GT, and 2l 20v for HGT.
Still, better than 1.2, not to mention 1.4 12v...

MAYBE it was an 'Irish' special considering the first thing buyers here think of is road tax. Way back, in France / Italy / Ireland , there were 'special' tax editions to suit the markets. Why has the Micra overtaken the Fiesta / Ka ? because it offered a sub-1000cc engine when the Fiesta/Ka were pushing 1.3L engines

2001 1.6 VVTI Avensis with 9 months NCT. Assuming alls in order its very well priced @ €950.

GT here was 1.6, depends on the country.

Not only in Ireland, i remember that some cars (Fiesta for example) had lower power output if sold in Germany. Tax was based on power, not size of the engine.
Most of those Bravos/Bravas came with 1.4/12 engines, 1.6 is rare (in Ireland).

Lovely alright, but it would be a real pity if someone used it as a daily driver !!
Anyway, you would have to get some original wheels (I can only assume that they are not original) and sort out that exhaust.
