I concede, what a nice find, HDi and absence of towbar is a plus too :) Although I prefer the towbar...!

Perhaps you prefer to go to specsavers too :p :pac: :D

Good find that 607, I'd want it tested before I bought though (pass or fail with fail sheet). Can be tested now...

My bad, I thought you were commenting on the 607!

Should have known you only get the horn for 406s :p

What he means is there's clearly a towbar on it.

Edit: Thought it was the 607 too!

Was just looking at that ad. I'm thinking about going down the bangernomic route for a while and there are a few MK4 GTi's coming up that have me very tenpted and I'm not a VAG fan at all.

I need something to put the dog in since all cars here are saloons now, that sort of yoke might do the trick..

Just if it is in bad condition, without servicing , with rust .. etc . .

Otherwise those cars are very good, was very high demand 8 years ago down in continent, people was paying really silly money for them, also was one of priority target for thieves . If i could have money, id love to have one in good condition.

Fast becoming unber cool Alfa 155 in Bangernomics budget. Big test, small mileage and in currently en vogue white. No need to sit in a Bland Box 10,000 when you can have this for around a grand.

If you take the tax left from the asking price on that merc, it's selling for €407.25.

Knock €200 off the asking, and you 'd be buying the car itself for scrap value.

Fair play to her, asking price is double what any sane person would value it at.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,248 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

Would have been offering far below asking but it looks like a very well minded example of a solid reliable car with low mileage. Boring as dishwater though and as the other half pointed out, not exactly nice to look at...

I'd say there has to be something wrong with it. Who throws €1600 worth of road tax at a car in one go and then has it for sale 4 weeks later? Nah....

If it's sound though it's some bargain!

If I had the moneys, I'd buy it, drive it till the NCT was nearly up then claim the tax back. Damn near a free car :D
