Savage car for the money. It looks very straight too.

Looks nice alright, but they only put out 190bhp new, kind of crazy really.

    Torque is cheap.

how much would tax cost on this and would it be really expensive on fuel around the city compared to a 1.4?

€600 quid takes it I'd say..

EDIT: Just seen this and we have a winner..

10 months NCT, Peugeot Diesel. €450

Low 20s mpg or even worse, those kind of cars certainly weren't meant to live in an urban environment.

I saw that... But not entirely sure what the glow plugs are?I always thought that they were similar to spark plugs in terms of starting a diesel engine. Didn't think it would be a costly fix but then again I haven't a clue.. :pac:

They warm up the engine basically. Could have any number of reasons for not starting easily though, but if it is plugs then it's easily sorted.

As Colm says glow plugs are an easy (ish) fix, but it could be something else that's the issue. If a seller is actually highlighting that it needs glow plugs then they must really really need changing or else there is another issue why the thing is slow to start :)

You're 100% in so far as they are the parts akin to spark plugs in a diesel.

Yeah I wondered why if they were a cheap fix why the seller wouldn't do it himself and add another few hundred onto the asking. Cheers for the info though, Colm too. I know very little about some of the mechanics..:D

You will start a diesel without glowplugs though, maybe not with ease and maybe not on the coldest of mornings, but it will start!

Perhaps, depending on the state of your battery :)

Unless of course you have a similar diagnosis causing a similar out come but resulting in a much heavier bill i.e low compression. On turn over they both sound the same in a diesel and you get a similar couloured puff of smoke out the back of the car when it finally does start. The difference being that one job requires a trip to the motor factors and the other to the scrapyard ;)

...and the state of your engine ;). If there is poor compression in it, it will struggle to start or may never do, if it is on his last legs.

Different steering wheel and the clocks look like they have just one reading (kms) so one would assume it is!

Which is why that 406 may well not be the bargain it appears to be :)

Not bangeromics, more banger, but hilarious mpg claim all the same. Bumper off the 5 door is a subtle mod.
