Listen for the inlet manifold swirl flaps rattling though!

Still, if they haven't failed yet (replacement engine time, usually), it's bangernomics and fingers crossed they won't go before it's time to sell it on or scrap it....

I was driving behind this earlier through Dundrum. The bodywork is in excellent condition, looks much better in real life than in the photos. I would pay attention to the right hand bank though. the exhaust was steaming much more than the left and looked like it might have a misfire ;).

The tax is not too bad. You don't get many superior V8 saloons under 3 liters :)

I had one just like that myself. Brilliant car, superbly engineered and built quality right up there.

I used to do Dublin to Galway well under 2 hours. Pre-penalty points. Pre-motorways. Plenty of overtaking :D

Sadly I have been without a BMW for nearly 2 years now. Miss them :(

What's the daily at the minute?
    Still got the 928?

You have a point alright. It's probably impossible to run a V8 for less than one of those. I will own an E34 but probably only one with a 6 pot :).

A very interesting find :D the owners name can damn nearly be made out! :pac:

First thing I think of when I see a V8 of that vintage is Nikasil, most likely sorted long ago though :)

    Super rare? Try a 6 cyl 530i ;)

I've just decided that the thing to do with that 5 series is badge it as a 518i and then go and frighten some people in their Civics and their RS4 TDIs:pac:

Daily the Saab 9-5 2l 4-pot turbo since '11. Passed the NCT this week. Sound & safe car I bought for peanuts, but it ain't no BMW

928 sitting up for a long time now. Can't afford the motor tax. Thanks for asking though :)

No V8 but a lovely car all the same.
Hopefully you can get it back on the road soon, I'd hate to see it end up in here. :)

    2 things to add:
    • In skangermobiles there was a Starlet with a Lexus wheel
    • In the local tip town there used to be a Soarer ;) on the front was Lexus, the rear Toyota.... :(

    Oblig voiture

    NCT till July, 600

Factor in that there's €800 worth of motor tax with this yoke into the €2200 asking price and it's well in bangernomics budget imo, 90k claimed miles and 8 months NCT almost makes it too good to be true but as with any yoke go in with eyes open etc etc...

Passenger door scraped and there's no leather..

i understand that these aren't a very good car, but...

new discs, pads, possibly new wheel bearings, fully serviced, fresh timing belt, 4 new tyres and the promise of a full dealer service history and a respectable mileage

despite its lack of hubcaps its a straight looking example imo. drive around in a fresh looking modern car for not much money.

    €1500 takes it i reckon

As good an example of a Renault Megane that is I still wouldn't go touch it. They are one of the worst cars made in the last 10 years IMO. They are very comfortable though but that's about it.

    very true.

just a nice (rare) example of a well maintained car for sale i suppose.

worth a gamble to some maybe. i just feel if i wanted a 2003 1.4 petrol piece of european crap i'd much rather it than say a golf/bora/astra type yoke. but fortunately i'm just not any way inclined to any of those cars.

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/4500457 twice the price, equally as dull and comparable reliability.

Bora with a 15 months NCT and 7 months tax for 1500. Looks clean enough, get it for 1250/1300 and you're onto a steal I rekon.

No tax or test. Only 40k though! Gotta be worth a look. If it wants for nothing then offer 200 quid, test it and you're on the road for 250 odd quid.
