Yep that 106 got my attention and would be a good buy but Laois is bit too far away for me. :)

I said "finally" in terms of this thread, as most of cars posted here are high on tax and insurance for young drivers like me. Obviously that's because of large engine sizes and emissions. Or maybe most of Yous here have more driving experience in Ireland. Whatever's the reason for this, there has to be small engine cars posted too.

Yes there are cheaper ones out there but have we ever considered asking price as a must? Besides this one is located in Dublin and sellers seem to ask more for cars here than on the outskirts, which doesn't necessarily mean that you have to pay more. I'd give him 700 take it or leave it if all turns out fine with the gearbox and there is no oil leaks from the engine.

No, I do not own that car but I'm looking for one.

Fair enough dude, it's not the car I'm pointing out it's the asking price isn't an exception.

Out of curiosity what makes it a zetec?

Ford use the term Zetec. Back when this car was made, it signified the better stable of their engines. Now it is just a spec level.

Edit** To elaborate, the Zetec had this 1.25 lovely smooth engines, but the one my family had, the lx or whatever bog spec was aropund then, had the years old rattley 1.3 engine. There was quite a difference in performance between the two.

Edit #2**** The chrome grille surround was one Zetec level. Was there a faux wood dash too? Possibly sunroof and alloys and spotlights too, but I cant really remember too well.

Oh right, I was thinkin it was just the engine, went to get a quote for insurance on it and it was about €600 more than the standard engine :P

I really couldn't think of a worse car to drive though.
An 1.2ltr 18 year old corsa with 144k on the clock. Jesus wept.

A 1.0 would be about 5 years newer but definitely a turdball.

NCT untill July, it seems looney cheap, might have issues really with an asking price that low.

lol at twin carb injection :pac:

Always thought the later 45 was a fine looking car.

Wouldn't pull the skin off a cold bowl of soup was always my favourite description.

Back on topic, not the most exciting car in the world and in need of a new MAF but a 2003 diesel asking €750 looks value even with no mention of tax or test.

They are really giving away these lovely Saabs at the moment , saw another wine one for 800 with history also. Have always liked the quikiness of them but have resisted buying one and now with the cost of fuel , road tax and of course Saab coming to the end of the line....... I didn't go to the wedding so I won't bother with the funeral !:P

"brand new reconditioned engine fitted in saab main dealership" Either brand new, or reconditioned, but not both, surely?

"Crack In Windscreen, (but as you know this can be changed for free on ur windscreen cover with no penelty)" Only if it happens while you have a current insurance policy on it. Buying it, then claiming for a new windscreen would be fraud....

    Not your ornery onager

I went and had a look at this, the bodywork is a lot worse than the pictures show, interior is clean for its age and mechanically fine with lots of work done.
Wouldnt budge from asking price but to be honest with the tax and the nct you wont need to spend a penny on it.
I was disappointed after driving from Navan to Tallaght and he only told me when I got there that he couldnt sell it till Saturday...

I sold one in fine condition for 790 during the summer. I wish I didn't now. They were a great motor. Zippy little engine.

The chrome grill came standard on the ghia model which also came with a plastic wood dash finish around the clocks and radio,it went around the heater dials too on 96-97 cars they stopped it around the heater dial between 98-00 then brought it back with the facelift.

The Zetec model never came with the chrome grill but did come with the sunroof ,electric windows and a better level of trim compare to the LX
It was only available with the 1.25 Zetec engine where the LX was available with the Zetec engine and the older 1.3 Endura Unit
Spotlights where and extra at purchase even on the Ghia model from 96-98(as were the alloy wheels)and became standard form 98

The wheels on that Fiesta are off a Ford Puma
