Scrap value is a lot more than 65 EUR and with the LPG kit, it's actually worth quite a lot. There's just another LPG station opened outside Dublin and we're talking pricing at 70c/l mark.

It being an estate also makes it sought after.

A NCT would help the sale though.

I know the scrap values is €100 to €150 and whether or not it is LPG won't matter a sh1te when scrapping it.
NCT is the issue, along with the quarter of a million miles of course. Looks dog rough too.

BTW, not all garages carry LPG....as you have stated so I'd say the "market" for such a car is quite limited - hence the "not worth €65" comment.

100 to 150 EUR is more than 65 EUR. Actually nearly 3 times more. And my comment in regards to LPG was not in regards to scrap, but in regards to economy.

It's a driving, mid-size estate for 650 quid FFS. And it doesn't looked dinged up as such. The engine will easily take another 60k miles. For that money, it's no loss either way, if it passes the NCT without too much hassle.

And even if not, sold for parts, the LPG kit alone as worth quite a bit.

I didn't say, that all garages carry LPG. I said, there's a new one outside Dublin, that opened recently and sells it at decent prices. Hence to somebody living in that area, the car is well worth the money for the saving LPG provides.

What is it with the negativity here ? This is about bangernomics. That yokes ticks all the boxes bar the missing NCT. You need a reality check however.

And you can always ask the seller to throw it through an NCT and see, what it fails on, then decide if you want it or not.

100% agree with your post except for that bit :)
The owner more than likely wouldn't be arsed.

I didn't predict the answer. You can always ask. If the owner says no, then so be it. In some cases the owner has already done it and has the paperwork.

You however won't find out, if you don't ask. :)

Apart from taking my post apart for no real reason, you are saying that I need a reality check, so here it is:
The car is a heap of sh1t.
    I wouldn't give €65 for it.
I don't care how much you like it and think what great value it represents. I just don't like or want it and certainly don't think it's good value.
    That is all.

Mine too! Had a 97 with a lot more miles on it than that by the time it was written off on me.

If it checks out I'd fancy it for another 100k tbh.

Why edit out the year on the reg and then tell us it's a 99?

    Registration | 99 D 47774
    Make | PEUGEOT
    Model | 406
    Description | 1.8
    Fuel Type | PETROL

One of these things is not like the other :)

    Even at 1400 it's a tad saucy.
