    Hi all,

    First time on,

I have an Acer Desktop PC with HDMI in and am able to use my PC as a monitor to play my PS3 . However, The HDMI functionality bypasses the PC functionality.

How am I able to capture PS3 game play on my PC so I can post on YouTube etc, what connections do I need between my PS3 and my PC?

I am told FRAPS or AMCAP are good peice of sorftware for capturing video

Do you have firewire on your Acer?

You will need a HDMI capture card to do that. The most common one that people use is the Blackmagic Intensity Pro

    http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/models/

It plugs into a PCI slot in the back of your PC and you just put a HDMI cable from your PS3 to PC to use it.Very easy to set up.

If you are interested there are other options like capture cards that use composite cables but these can only record in 720p while the Blackmagic can record in full HD.

I hope that was of some help

Edit: Fraps can only be used for PC recording and cannot be used to record from PS3.
