Just played the demo for this right there. Oh, good lord!! I'm completely blown away. It plays exactly how I wanted it to.

I've had high hopes for this (being a big fan of the early games), and the demo alone excedes all my expectations. I'll certainly be buying the full version. Now, if only I had some money... :(

Finally got a few games played of this. It is exactly what I was expecting. Really enjoyable. Glad I picked it up :) the mountains are class

Well, I've always liked SSX, but I've haven't owned a console in years. So I did the completely logical thing and went to Gamestop to buy a PS3 and SSX.

Oh god, it's perfect. I love it. Only issue I have is how difficult it is to get the score multiplier up as quick as some lads manage.

I nearly brought this back. I couldn't get used to the controls, and the spinning/flipping was no where near as responsive on the directional pad in classic as the left analogue is in standard. But, i gave it another go, and i'm sucked in now. I'm used to the controls, and i'm actually enjoying it. It;s going to take some practice to get used to everything though.

Not too gone on the extra items needed for different races, and so far not enjoying the glide suit. I prefer the races where i don't need anything extra to do it.

I haven't played through all the regions yet, but if there is no place like the Tokyo Megaplex, i hope they release them as (free!) downloads.

Having the most amazing combo run you've ever had, and then clipping a tree.

Happens to me every time I go to land the combo that would beat your score on my leaderboard:D

    Regret adding you earlier Mitch:pac::pac::pac:

This game is driving me nuts!! After the main SSX (press start) screen I get "Connecting to Ridernet" for anywhere up to 15 minutes. After I finish an event in explore mode I get the same again. How do I turn this off?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 321 ✭✭Socialist_Pig

    not sure to be honest..
Is your Broadband ok?sounds like it might be timing out

Was having troubles with EA servers & RiderNet this evening myself.

Also, people are really good at this! Struggling in some Global Events. Then again, I've also joined some at the wrong time and had one shot :S

    🤪

Not sure what's going on, was playing MW3 online after turning SSX off and everything was fine for an hour. Now I can't sign in to PSN. Internet is ok, I'm using it to access Boards. I'll sort it tomorrow...
    Thanks!

I had it too, but I thought I just hadn't set up me new gadget right. I actually could sign in, but I more or less instantly disconnected.

Well, this game is absolutely brilliant. I am really enjoying it, think I'm getting the hang of stringing combos together, which is seeing me post bigger scores. Sabre is the only person on my friends list with the game, so if any boardsies on Xbox 360 are in a similar situation feel free to add Mikeyt086 to get some more scores to compete with on RiderNet. Not if you're too good though ;)

If they are, you can hide them on your RiderNet until you feel ready to take them on :D

Excellent game, if this was two player it would be one of the all time greats. Best thing do far is just when I think I've nailed the game it throws up a few tracks where it's a whole new learning curve!

I can see a lot of people being annoyed at the lack of local multiplayer, everyone I know in RL that plays ssx mainly plays it splitscreen against each other

its pretty ****ty that local multi is a relic of the past these days

Feel free to add me folks (PSN: Newaglish), just getting the hang of it now, it's pretty good! Managed to get a gold on one of the online challenges, it bothers me that people can just buy credits for real-world money though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,101 ✭✭✭MitchKoobski

For what its worth the PSN went down for maintanence around 10PM and stayed off until this morning.

Probably why people were losing access to Ridernet as it went on.

Edit: and as of midday its still off for me.

    Oh, yeah, psn: ItsTyrrellYo

Feel free to add me, I'm not sure how to add people yet, and too lazy to learn for now.

will be buying this at some point, just hoping for an early price drop somewhere over the next couple of weeks. Might be tempted if I keep looking in at this thread though :(

Found the first thing i truely hate about this game. Avalanche. I've only done the two in the Deadly Decent but i will not be doing anymore if i don't have to. Terrible addition imo.

Wait, there's no 2-player (as in, two people sitting beside each other)?

What the f*ck? That's ridiculous. A few months ago I bought and started playing SSX Tricky with my 4 year old nephew (he loves it) but the copy I have isn't great so only the first level (Garabaldi) is playable. I was glad this game looked good as I could play it with him instead (same track over and over gets boring)

Well that sucks. I saw SSX On Tour for sale on PSN, might pick that up just for him.

Hi Folks - I picked up SSX limited edition from Game specifically to get the mt Fuji DLC, but can anyone confirm if I should have gotten a seperate code or is it on the disk ? I can't seem to find it on the world map, and the only code I got was for the EA activation

Argh, just started getting into this game and it freezes; back to Gamestop with me.

As an SSX vet, initial impressions were of disappointment. Was no-one else irked by the fact that you're able to perform 1080° right off the bat? I mean, I can't even see what kind of Uber tricks my character is performing because the spins are so insanely quick. Coupled with the ludicrous speeds that send you hurtling down the mountain, it's become a real issue. I way preferred the appreciable character development that was featured in previous incarnations where you slowly built your player into a looping speed demon as opposed to having these attributes from the off.
