we brought our two 2 year old goldendoodles to Angela Power a few months ago&she was mainly based on obedience training, training you aswel as your dog, it was very good and reasonably priced, she takes on a new group to train every 8 weeks, it was great for socialising our dogs&training them to walk beside us&listen to us, she was reasonably priced at less than €100 to train the 2 dogs! The training was carried out in the community centre behind st.pauls church in lisduggan

by the way,.....theres one woman that trains dogs in town one to one, we called her before we had ever heard of angela powers group classes, we were willing to pay over €300 but when we rang her advertised number, she was so rude&tried to tell us she there was no such thing as goldendoodles just labradoodles, she was very rude altogether, iv heard a few bad stories bout her, she trains the dogs in the industrial estate that cresthaven is in, in the eveningsthink shes a dalmation breeder, just beware some of them are wayyyy too over priced

Well i found the dog trainers number we went to just so you have it, Angela Power (051)370245, she trains them every tuesday evening from 8-9 pm in the Manor of St.John community hall, when we trained ours we found that most the dogs got fed up of dog biscuits quickly into the hours training but they will obey for real meat like ham or chicken :) best of luck with it anyway :)

Some people seem to think if a dogs breed isn't recognised then there is no such thing aa that dog even though I'm fairly sure you seen your dog with your own eyes. Lol

    Word of warning..
When taking your dog/puppy to a dog trainer ALWAYS ask of their qualifications. Dog training has changed alot over the past ten yrs and some trainers have been left behind. It was once ok to use choke chains, 'corrections' and intimidation in class but thankfully this is now a thing of the past. Modern trainers base their skills on scientific research and have recognised qualifications from Fetac and universities. Positive reinforcement is the only way to go. You wouldn't let your child be tought be an unqualified teacher would you? This is why it may be a little more expensive than say 'unqualified dog people'.. Isn't it worth it?

The reason im saying this is because I learned the hard way. I took my dog aggressive dog to this class and by the time the 'trainer' was finished with him he was also aggressive towards people. He was nervous, shy and unpredictable and I know now that choke chains, leash jerks, loud bangs to startle him and all the things I was advised to do actually made things much much worse.. a qualified trainer would never have allowed a dog aggressive dog to enter a class situation. One to one is better in that case.
Hope this advice helps people to select the right trainer and learn from my mistakes..

The trainer I went with does 3 or 4 dogs at class iv only gone once but she works outdoors Iv got a Akita dog so I really want to be sure I'm getting the right trainer , have you got any ideas of best trainers around if this woman has no success with me ;) (and my dog )
