    About €149 overall. There's no need for a fan as it's a boxed CPU. Bear in mind there's a €20 delivery charge. If you're lucky, there may be someone making an order with Hardwareversand around the time you're buying and they might put your order in with theirs.

    Cheers. The PSU is 350W, would it be better to get a new one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,992 ✭✭✭✭partyatmygaff

    No need. Unless you have a graphics card 350W is plenty.

    I should point out though that the G530 will obliterate the 645 in single-threaded stuff which, if you're using it for internet and music, it will all be.

    And yeah, 350 is more than enough if you're not using anything above a mid-range GPU.

    For multi-tasking though it'd be noticeably better.

    Then again, in a year or two you could always upgrade to a better Intel CPU with that motherboard.

    True, but there's only so much multi-tasking you can do with an browsing-focused machine.

    Serephucus, I'll probably use your build. Its probably not going to be upgraded for a few years. The current machine has a few issues, the PSU is a possibility. If that turns out to be the case what's a good replacement.

    Kiss Quiet 560W €24.75

    Well Dabs is down, so I can't link you, but a very good PSU is the CX430 from Corsair - €40. As regards the case, the Xigmatek Asgard for €32.

    To save a bit of money, you could buy one of Dabs' uber-cheap cases for €20, but do not use the bundled PSU - like you're current one - unless you like smelling burnt solder.

    The money has Finally come through. Will be looking to see if there is a better build for sale at the moment. Any advice?

    Since the price has gone up in dabs, I wondered slightly better parts be bought for the same price. The money has arrived for realsies this time! Will put an order through in the next day or two, if anyone wants to share a shipment.

    MoBo = 50.13

    CPU = 39.38

    Ram = 25.27

    cooler = 16.36

    Total 131.14 excluding P+P

    I made this, but having one small problem. The fan needs a nudge to get started on a cold boot. It looks like its installed as per the picture in the manual. Once it starts it keeps going. There is a 400w power supply. The power is plugged into the cpu socket. Any ideas.
