    Hi Guys

Irish couple in late 20's just in the process of moving into North sydney. We are only in oz a couple of months and are looking to meet others.Any other people or couples around the area fancy a few beers or meet up? We like having beers in or out or generally getting out in the evenings or days off.
    Send a pm

    Cheers

Why don't you start a 'Boards Beers - Sydney' thread?
    I don't think we've had one

I would suggest somewhere central, rather than north - as so others can join etc (but it is up to you!)

Maybe not an Irish bar - loads of great places near rocks or surry hills/ darlinghurst

If you pick a date (maybe weekend of 20/21 or the next two after) I can change the date on the thread to make it clear.

Friday 20th would suit me if it suits everyone else.central bar sounds good.i am not too familiar with bars in that area if you know a good place you call it.

Nice spot certainly, but pricey - I think the cheapest beers are $10/$11, but I am open to correction?

You can get house special prices too I think.
Whoever is organising could give them a ring I suppose.

Sounds good to me too. Looks like we don't have a lot of numbers yet though

Probably count me in, I have been too busy looking for accommodation and working recently to socialise so this would be a good excuse.

My girlfriend and I will hopefully make this. We've only been here a month and don't know a whole lot of people yet so it would be great to meet for a beer and a chat.

We're living in the Surry Hills area so anywhere central will be grand. The only snag is that we're moving into a new place between Friday evening and Saturday (deliveries etc) so it might be a bit tricky but sure I'm sure we can work around it for a couple of pints :pac:

    Hey everyone.

I'd also been keen. Working up in North Shore myself.
Will probably be working on Friday night till 7 or 8pm though so will keep posted on times but if its not starting too early I'll pop down for sure.

    Cheers,
    Eoin

    Okay more suggestions:
Jacksons on george: $10 jugs 5-7 (circular quay)
PJ's: Everyone knows this pub and is one of the nicer irish bars (and curry chips)
Barviarn beer cafe - Great place but pricy

    ... ??

A few definates would be nice tho, free 457 advice will be dished out lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 765 ✭✭✭6ix

Yeah myself and the missus will definitely make it for a while. Any of those venues are fine by us. I'll keep an eye on the thread for times/venue and see how we go with the moving process but you can put us down as definite.

PJ's do curry chips? Why did nobody ever inform of this important fact???

"PJ's" is PJ's on Clarence St right. That's a nice spot alright. Had a few socials there before. Very handy for anyone coming from Northside too.

Best I could make that is 7.30pm due to work.

Sorry I cant give definite until location / time is known. I'm on visa number 8 by the way and regard myself more knowledgeable that 90% of immigration agents so free 457 advice to all! Ha...
