Training as a mature student from UK

    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone on here can offer me some advice?

I'm due to move to Ireland fron England later this year. I have been preparing to train as a teacher by studying an Access course.

Now I know the entry requirements differ in Ireland to that in the UK. So I'm wondering - is it possible to study teaching with no Irish qualification and with exams taken as a mature student??

    Any help gratefully received :)

You need an Irish qualification to gain mature entry to B.Ed course in Ireland.

This qualification can either be a Higher level C3 in Leaving Cert Irish, or a pass in first year Arts Irish. I believe there may be some other course that you can take in certain institutions as well, which has been mentioned here before.

Basically in Ireland- no Irish = no training.

Some people train in England and subsequently move (back) to Ireland, but they must take and pass special Irish exams on return.
