How to call Eircom Customer Charter from abroad?

    Title says it all...

I'm trying to get a billing issue resolved and when I talk to people in eircom (by calling 01-671 4444) they say they can't do anything and that I must call Eircom Customer Charter (1-800-400 000). But they can't put me through; I have to call them myself.

Now my issue appears not to be resolved but I can not call this number from abroad. Asking someone in Ireland to do this on my behalf is not an option.

If you wish you can log a Formal Complaint through this contact form. Ask them to ring you.

Thanks for the reply but I really need to be able to call that number or an equivalent. I don't have the chance to be available most of the day to receive a call that, based on experience, could go on for some time as I repeat my story.

Does eircom record all calls to customer service? If so then I could reference an existing conversation and verbal agreement. It would be great if someone from eircom can simply give me a Dublin number I can ring. It would be even better if they can dig out a recording of a conversation I had a few weeks ago so that I don't have to explain everything from scratch and hope that I get the same resolution again.

    Hi FamousBelgian,

If you PM your telephone number and the date of the fault you are looking to discuss with customer charter and I can check that with them directly.

    Thanks, Mark

Thanks for the reply. I found some time and on the fourth call (first one was voicemail hell, the next two mysteriously hung up) I explained the situation again and got someone to transfer me to customer charter where I explained everything yet again. Not at all fun but they confirmed the refund I was due (although it hadn't been applied to the latest bill) and they answered my questions. I still have a broadband issue to sort out but that will have to wait...
