Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Wow! That's a lot to carry around everyday! I do my makeup before I leave home so all I really have to do is touch ups during the day so I don't carry nearly as much.

La Roche Posay Mineral Foundation Powder + Ecotools retractable kabuki

La Roche Posay Concealer Pen - eyes and general dullness

Clinique acne solutions foundation in lightest shade - I only use this where I need it on blemishes, everywhere else just gets a dusting of mineral powder

Benefit Coralista - My favourite for about the last 3 years! Such a flattering shade. I just apply this with a random retractable powder brush

Bronzer - Bourjois one in the shape of a chocolate bar, it's lovely

Lancome Virtuose Mascara - I'm really really impressed with this mascara. I got a mini one in a palette and bought the larger one last weekend. The brush is an awesome shape and just the perfect amount of product is applied. I think I'll switch permanently to this from YSL Faux Clis!

I don't wear heavy eyeliner during the day just a bit of smudgy dark powder along my lash line and a neutral powder eyeshadow from the Chanel quad I'm using at the moment. I got it in an airport last year can't remember which one it is.

Soap and Glory Lipstick :D First Soap and Glory makeup I've tried and I absolutely love it. I got shade Perfect day and it looks great with my pale skin and fair hair. I'd definitely buy others if I find more shades that suit!

La Roche Posay Lipstick - I absolutely love this but unfortunately I can't seem to buy makeup other than mascara in Ireland. Got this in Berlin, really moisturising and the colour payoff on the lips is fab I got Neon Raspberry.

Lip Balm - Raspberry spf15 from Hawaiian Tropic - Yummy
Sexy Motherpucker Soap and Glory - it's just fine a little sticky
    Old reliable Rose Vaseline

Fav perfume at the moment: Dior Hypnotic poison

I also have oil blotting sheets just in case and I'm in love with the Tangle Tamer :D

That is a lot to be carrying around!

I own a LOT of makeup, mostly eye stuff, but I hardly bring any about with me. I have about 3 red lipsticks buried at the bottom of my handbag, thats about it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,595 ✭✭✭The Lovely Muffin

Lol I should have clarified I don't carry that around me with every day :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

    I always use:

Estee Lauder Double Wear - Tawny/Shell (if no tan on)

    Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil - Hazel

Boots No 7 Eyeliner - Black

Mac MSF Natural Powder - Medium Dark/Light (if no tan on)

    Rimmel Bronzer

Loreal Lash Architect 4D - Black

Then I have about 20 Mac eyeshadows that I rotate, mainly in browns and pretty much all neutrals except a few. In particular, I always use a highlighter around my eyebrow and one of the darker ones on the lid. End up using the same few and never using others. My faves are Brown Down, Moth brown, Satin Taupe, Vanilla, Mulch, Nanogold and Copperplate.

Have a few Mac blushes in pinks and peaches. Peachykeen and Sweetness are faves.

Have a lot of Mac lipsticks in pinks and nudes as well as 3 YSL ones and a Stila one. Faves are Myth, Hue, Lady Gaga, Angel. YSL 1 and 7 and Stila Lillium.

I apply Cymex cream to my lips in the morning as a lip primer, it gets rid of flakey skin you get at winter time.

I carry whatever I put on that morning in an old Louis Vuitton pouchette so I can reapply at lunch.

I also bring a Denman Tangle Tamer brush with me as it's ok to use with my extensions.

I do have more make up but the rest probably hasn't been used in quite a while!

    Wow impressive make up list!!

Been wanting Mac Teddy, is it worth the extra money or are there similar for cheaper?

I have tons in my make up case and am starting a make up course soon so hoping that all the products will soon be very well used, even the ones I don't get quite the use out of!

To be honest, I find M.A.C Teddy similar in colour to Bourjois Paris Khôl & Contour in Brun Expressif.

They aren't exactly the same, but there isn't a big difference between both colours. If you want, I can swatch each of them on the back on my hand and take some pics to show you.

I got both my M.A.C liners from Fragrance Direct and my sister who is a make up artist said they are genuine, however in this thread someone who purchased M.A.C from Fragrance Direct says their product(s) are fake.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056472473

From reading that thread I wouldn't purchase any other M.A.C from Fragrance Direct until I hear more about the M.A.C they sell, unless it's just their blushes/face powders that are fake I don't know, but I'd certainly hold off purchasing M.A.C from them for now anyway.

Ah thanks for your reply, don't go to any trouble, but can you tell me if the Bourjois one is nice and soft like Mac pencils tend to be? If it's pretty much as good I'll defo opt for the Bourjois!:)

Interesting thread! I like seeing what products other people use.

Not going to list all my make up as that would take all day but will list what I use pretty much every day!

Primer: Peter Thomas Roth Primer or am currently using Shu Uemura UV Base in Pink

Foundation: Skin 79 BB Cream or Armani Foundation

    Eyes: Elf eyelid primer base
    Maybelline Gel Liner
    Naked Eye Palette
Mac Eyeliner in Smoulder on lower lash line

Blush: Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in natural or pink

Powder: Make Up Forever HD Powder
Bare Minerals Clear Radiance powder to highlight

I use a mixture of brushes from Mac, Elf and Smashbox!

The Bourjois one is soft, I find anyway.

I glides on nicely and stays put. I've worn it loads, and it literally doesn't budge.

Can be hard to get off though, I find I need an oil based product to remove it (Baby Oil, Lancome bi-facial, Clinique make up remover for lids, lashes and lips etc). You could use a make up remover wipe, but it can leave your eyes/eye area stingy after (I found anyway).

I'll get some swatches up tonight, in about an hour. :)

Ah you're a star, defo going to get the Bourjois one and give it a go, think I have enough boots points that I can get it for free as well which is always nice:)

Ooh how much is the bourjois one? I don't like black eyeliner on the water line because it can look very harsh, that brown looks perfect though :)

I have a huge case of makeup, I'd be forever listing it all!

In my "everyday" makeup bag that I carry around with me (this Benefit one, I love it! image1xl.jpg) I have the following....

    Brushes

Jemma Kidd Double Ended Eye Shadow Brush
Jemma Kidd Double Ended Eye Define Brush
(These Jemma Kidd brushes are just brilliant. I must have them about 4 years and still no loose hairs, and I use them every day. They are the cheapest brushes in my collection, and my favourites! They also save on space in my makeup bag :D The liner bit of the define brush is a bit raggedy, but it's perfect for doing my eyebrows)
    Mac 275
    Sephora Smudge Brush
    Mac 210
    Mac 266
Sephora Angled Liner Brush (Practically the same as the 266 but a bit stiffer)
    Elf Brow Wand
    No7 Kabuki Brush

    Eyeliners
    Mac Fluidline Gel Eyeliner
    Rimmel Black Kohl pencil
    Elf Brown Kohl pencil
    Barry M White Kohl Pencil

    Mascara
Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion Black

    Eyeshadows
These vary depending on what I'm wearing obviously, but my main day-to-day ones are all brown/neutral colours:
    IsaDora Gold Palette
Mac Palette with: Texture, Blanc Type, Amber Lights and Patina
Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette (I use the brown in this for my eyebrows)

    Blusher
Again, this changes all the time! At the moment I've Maybelline ExpertWear 79 Flash Plum. Realised today when I looked in the mirror that it's a bit shimmery for work :o

    Face
    Revlon ColourStay 220 Natural Beige
MaxFactor Panstick :D:D (I used to wear this all over my face when I was 15!! Jaysus it must have looked caked on. Now I use it for a little extra coverage over my foundation when I'm having bad skin days and concealer isn't enough)
    NYX Concealer pot
    Rimmer Sunshimmer Bronzer
    Rimmel Stay Matte powder

Hard to believe all that fits snugly into my makeup bag

I'm pretty much too lazy to get up and get my make up bag to look in it, so I'll just list what I remember and what are my favourites.

    Primer :
    Smashbox Photofinish.

    Concealer :
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection in Light 2. I bought this after I heard loads about it on YouTube and I actually really like it. I just use it under my eyes and it blends so well.
Benefit Erase Paste. Rarely use it as I find it very thick.

    Foundation :
    NARS Sheer Glow in Fiji.
    MAC Studio Sculpt in NW20.

    Powder :
Benefit Get Even in Shade 1. I've hit pan on this so I'm gonna have to invest in a new powder soon. Probably won't buy this again. Nothing special imo.

    Blusher :
    NARS in Orgasm.
    Benefit Coralista.
    Benefit Dandelion.
    Benefit Bella Bamba.
Topshop in Neon Rose. Cheapest of 'em all, but I use it loads.

    Bronzer :
    Benefit Hoola.
MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden.

    Eye shadow :
    Urban Decay Naked Palette.
Selection of MAC eye shadows. (Also used on eyebrows.)
    Benefit Smokin' Eye kit.

    Eye liner :
    MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack.
    Barry M Wink.

    Mascara :
Boujois Volumizer. Hands down the best mascara I've ever used.
    Benefit Bad Gal.

    Highlighter :
    Benefit High Beam.

    Lipstick :
Topshop in Rio Rio. My very favourite.
    Topshop in Hazard.
    MAC Ruby Woo.
I have many more but these 3 are what I use over and over and would definitely buy again.

    Lip balm :
    Carmex.

    Brushes :
I have a ridiculous amount, by MAC, Benefit, Bare Minerals, elf, ecotools, No. 7.

I have two, a small one with the stuff I use daily, and a huge one with all the rest.

The small one has contents that will not change because I finally have all the basics perfect the way I want them..except mascara, the search continues..

GOSH moisturising primer. Happy with this but think I'll re-buy MAC prep+prime when it's gone.
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation in 004 Light Porcelain- LOVE. Perfect. Pale enough, goes on like a dream, not too shiny, lasts.
Collection 2000 Matte Powder compact in Transparent. This is the palest powder on the high street- better than Rimmel's version. Works perfectly to set and matte my face.
Max Factor Creme Puff in 81 Truly Fair Great powder to warm up my face without turning it orange or mucky looking.
Soap and Glory Glow All Out GREAT highlighter compact, lovely colour, lasts and best packaging ever
Soap and Glory Love at First Blush Best blusher ever, I'm in love with it. Has a colour wheel but using all of the colours produces the most perfect flushed pink that is perfect for pale skin. Very highly pigmented.
Scandaleyes- Rimmel I think? Not a brilliant mascara, fairly average. Will probably end up buying Benefit's They're Real but I hate paying so much for a mascara.

    In my use-everyday bag:

Garnier's BB cream in Light (really like this, only use a little bit of foundation over it)

Penneys Prime of Your Life primer

Mac StudioFix Foundation (was NW20, just changed to NC20)
    or
Shisheido Dual Balancing Foundation in 12o natural light ivory (nearly gone)

Benefit Foundation Brush (only decent makeup brush I own)

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in rose nude

    BadGal back eyeliner pencil
Gosh eyeliner pen in carbon black
2true waterproof liquid eyeliner (about 2quid but stays on really well. i like that when it finally starts to wear off it does do smudgily which looks okay, while the Gosh stays on well, but when it wears it *flakes* off leaving big gaps in your eyeliner and looks so much worse.

    Maybelline Collosal Mascara
Penneys Eye Can't Go Wrong Mascara

    Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box
    Urban Decay Skull Shadow Box
(i mostly use the browns/coppers which are both nearly gone in both palettes but I just ordered Naked2 so these are about to get replaced in the day-to-day bag)

Really crappy eyeshadow brush (also to be replaced with naked2' brush)

    Benefit Highbeam

    Carmex

tweezers, bobbypins and small tin of nivea handcream

it looks like so much written down, but all fits into a pencil case sized bag (the eyeshadow palettes don't go in though)

Don't really keep these in a makeup bag. They are usually just thrown all over my room. :/ These are just the stuff I ever use! Never really carry make-up with me. Sometimes A bit of powder if I'm going out after work. And eyeliner. And lipgloss.

One application of make-up is usually enough!

    Eyebrow Pencil
Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil In Wheat

    Eyeliner

    Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack (gel)
No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil Black (pencil)

    Concealer
Rarely use concealer. But when I do it's the Barbara Daly from Tesco one. In the lightest colour!

    Foundation

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Liquid Makeup in 1 - Fresh Alabaster
Mac Studio Fix Powder NW20 (in winter) NW25 (in summer/at night)

    Eye Shadow

    MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow
Urban Decay Book of Shadows 1
    Topshop Cream Eyeshadow in Goldmine

    Mascara

Maybelline Volum' Express One by One
    Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes

    Lip Stuff

Max Factor Colour Collections Lipstick 833 Rosewood
Loreal Colour Riche Boosting Serum Lipstick 503 Bright Burgundy
Soap And Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Clear
No7 High Shine Lip Gloss Happy

    Blusher/Bronzer/Highlighting Stuff

    Benefit Highbeam
    Benefit Benetint
    MAC Dollymix Blusher
    Benefit Coralista Blusher
    NARS Pennylane Blusher
NARS Laguna Bronzer (rarely use it...bronzer looks weird on me)

    Primer

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer (if I can afford it...usually can't be arsed)

    Brushes

MAC 187 Duo Fibre Stippling Brush
    MAC 266 Small Angle Brush
    Some cheap boots eyebrow brush
Eyeshadow brushes I got in some cheap set in Dunnes :/

MAC Studiofinish concealer in NC15, applied with MAC 217
MAC Studiofix Powder Compact in NC20, applied with MAC 150
MAC Harmony (blush) as contour applied with MAC 138
MAC Melba (blush) applied with MAC 116
MAC Fix+ sprayed over face and buffed in with MAC 187

I have tonnes of makeup. If I was to list what I'd use on a day to day basis though it would be this:

I apply a light layer of Elizabeth Arden compact Perfect Beige
Then MAC Studio Fix in NW15
    MAC Select Powder in NW20
MAC Limited Edition Sleeping Beauty Blusher
    Lancome Pinky Highlighter

Bare Minerals in either Nude Beach or Disco or something as a base
    MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow
    Bobbi Brown Black Cocoa eyeshadow
    Rimmel Scanaleyes Mascara
    Benefit They're Real Mascara
    MAC eyeliner in Feline

MAC lipstick: Snob, Creme de la Femme, Creme Cup or Saint Germain

And thats just a regular day for me! :)

    Day to day:
-rimmel or essence kohl pencil in black, whichever I find fastest at the time!
    -rimmel XXL volume mascara
-covergirl eyeshadow (not sure of the name of it, the colours are pinky white, purple and silvery grey)
-barbara daly at tesco foundation in porcelain
-rimmel concealer (only for the odd spot or when I have a migraine and big shadows under my eyes)
    -clinique red lipgloss
    -eyelash curler
-little triangular sponge for my foundation and a long brush for my eyeshadow

If I'm trying to make an effort I'd use gold gosh eyeshadow at the corner of my eyes or essence silver eye pen, without the eyeshadow.

In mine theres my mac make-up, smashbox blush, the odd tampon, a couple of cotton buds, kohl eyeliner without the lid, (lost it somewhere)..tons of brushes although i,ll never use em all, and lets not forget the fluff, little bits of fluff that seems to burrow itself into the corners of my bag no matter how many times its cleaned, :)

Like some of you, I don't really carry around makeup. Even if I brought something I never end up touching up.
But my day to day stuff is:

    Face
Mixture of Revlon colorstay in buff and a dior forever foundation.
Elf face powder/ Dior loose powder for going out.
Blush - maybelline dream touch - I love this! Gives a nice finish, nice and dewy.
    - elf in candid coral - nice but has some shimmer so I go easy on it if I'm wearing to work.
    - Mac dame - beautiful pink
Concealor - healthy mix in medium - only need a tiny amount of this, amazing!

    eyes
Naked palette - got if for xmas this year so it's all new to me!!
Clinique 4 colour palette - free with one of their gift sets - gorgeous blendable colours.
elf cream eyeshadow in bronze - surprisingly didn't crease much at all.
Elf brow gel in light - This is really easy to use and colour is great for blonds.
Mascara - used up maybelline colossal which I loved. Using a sample of clinique curling mascara - lovely but I wouldn't spend the money on a full size
    Any of these:
    Smashbox liner in brown
    Rimmel waterproof black
    maybelline gel liner in black

    Lips
Not a great one for lip stuff cos it wears off and can't be bothered reapplying.
Love the clinique chubby stick in mega melon though. easy to use without a mirror :)

    brushes
Eco tools blush brush and concealor brush
    Elf kabuki
Elf stipple brush - started using this for foundation but now just use it for powder
Urban decay shadow brush that came with naked
Smashbox domed blending brush - great size for getting in the crease
    No. 7 fluffy blending brush

I have lots of make up (have thrown tonnes of it out though, so I do use everything I have at some stage or another!). This is what I'd use most of the time though:

    Face:
Bourjois 16hr Healthy Mix serum foundation in 52 / Vichy Dermablend in 15 (Opal)
MAC Studio Finish concealer in NC15
    MAC MSF Natural in Light
    Soap and Glory bronzer
MAC Mineralize blush in Gentle or Dainty, Benefit Sugarbomb

    Eyes:
Gosh brow pencil in Grey Brown
    UD Primer Potion in Sin
    Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes palette
    UD Naked/Naked 2
    Maybelline Liner Xpress in Brown
    Lancome Hypnose Drama

    Lips:
Not really much of a lips person. I have a L'Oreal lipstick in a soft pink colour I wear to work, and a Pixi lipgloss I got ages ago in TK Maxx.

For powder and blush I use Ecotools brushes which are lovely and very nice at blending. I got one of the MAC brush sets for Christmas, the Mineralize one, so I use the 187 for foundation and the 130 for concealer which is a combination I'm very pleased with. I use the two eyeshadow brushes from that set also, and recently, the brush from the Naked 2, which is very nice.

It sounds like lots, but Naked palettes notwithstanding I can fit all of it into a small little makeup bag!

I normally carry Benefit’s hello flawless powder to top up, some Loreal blush, Urban Decay mascara and lipgloss. Ooooh and Miss Dior Cherie perfume which I love! I like the Body Shop blotting sheets too as my skin is oily sometimes :)
