Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if an enrollment policy and an admission policy are the same thing in a school. I have asked in the school my children go to if they have an admission policy and was told no just the department one but none specific to the actual school.

I think the school (its board in effect) are obliged (Section 15, subsection (2) of the EDUCATION ACT, 1998) to publish an admissions policy (enrollment is the same thing).

    "...the board shall...."
    (d) publish, in such manner as the board with the agreement of the patron considers appropriate, the policy of the school concerning admission to and participation in the school, including the policy of the school relating to the expulsion and suspension of students and admission to and participation by students with disabilities or who have other special educational needs, and ensure that as regards that policy principles of equality and the right of parents to send their children to a school of the parents’ choice are respected and such directions as may be made from time to time by the Minister, having regard to the characteristic spirit of the school and the constitutional rights of all persons concerned, are complied with,

Thank you BostonB I asked again this morning and was again told there is no policy, they just comply with the departments guidelines. This is a very old school so maybe they have just carried on the way they always did

They may not realise they have an obligation. I'd contact the dept of education.

Then find out who sits on the board and perhaps ask them directly.
