Just wondering if anyone has any experience with a good optician in Dundalk?

I have booked in with the medical eye and health centre.

Just curious if anyone has any experience of them and the opthamologist Niall(who comes up once a week from Dublin).

    Thanks!

Are you looking for an opthalmologist (a doctor who specialises in eyes) or an optician (also known as an optometrist, who measures your sight and prescribes corrective lenses)?
2 very different things, you know!

As far as Opticians go you cant really beat Specsavers for cost and customer service, their range of product is generally top notch. As for an Opthamology consult, the clinic on Francis St is as good as! Dr John Smyth was excellent for me (of course these things are down to personal experience and opinion (see tatooist thread lol))!

    Not sure to be honest.

I've always gone to an opticians but could not say if the person examining the eyes was an optometrist or opthalmologist.

I assume an opthalmologist can do all of what an optometrist does and more?

Well its most likely that an optician would refer you to the opthamologist if need be. Its a cheaper option too rather than paying Dr surgery fees maybe unnecessarily.

I use Specsavers all of the time and they are very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with me when I was learning to put in contact lenses, poking the eyes out of my head!
