hi,i have been ttc #2 for 12 months now,I went to gp with lots of unpleasant symptoms since stopping birth control which have got worse with every cycle.I am currently waiting to see a specialist in endometreosis.Anyway I have been charting for a few months now and figured out why my cycles range from 27-29 days.It depends on when ovulation happens whether it will be day 12,13 or 14 as I have a luteal phase of 15 days.So when ovulation occurs decides how long it will be til my period will start.Have you been charting?Do you know for sure you ovulate consistantly every month?Charting is very good.Helps you get to know your own body and also gives you a good picture of things so if you need to see your gp or a specialist they have a better knowledge of what is going on with you.Hope this helps. This ttc journey can be very frustrating and lonely at times!

Hi Childminder. You sound like me. I had 2 wk 5 miscarriages in the space of 4 months. Then 4 months later I conceived my first child having ovulated on day 12 of a 26 day cycle. I was charting body temp, cervical position and discharge and this was the first month that all 3 indicated ovulation at the same time.

Hi,,it took me awhile to get pregnant after the pill like i got off it in march and i didnt get pregnant till december and i wasnt even on it for that long.. ill never be going on it again.. i think its meant to stay in the body for awhile like up to a year.. as you prob know already.. see i notice changes in the mucous and all that and i try alot around that time and the nurse told me what to do and im doing it :) but she said she'll bring me for hormone tests next month since nothing is happening.. very upsetting as you know yourself.. but since my cycle is just getting back to normal i thought it'd be easier to get pregnant but noo.. and i think i ovulate at weird times.. with my first pregnancy i conceived day 4 of my cycle (weird i know) and i thought id be "safe"around than (wasnt trying for a baby) unfortunatly i miscarried.. so 2 years later i wanted to try for another baby and i wish it was just that easy to get pregnant.. i think its probably easier to get pregnant when your not planning and just have fun :) but its sooo hard when all im thinking about is baby baby baby and nearly everyone around me is preganant.. anyway best of luck and i hope you get pregnant soon.. 12 months is a long time.. i know my friend got tablets and she basically got pregnant straight away from them :)

    Hi anna,
im very sorry for your losses it must be very hard to have all of them together :( did the docs say to give your body some time after the miscarriages? i was 11 weeks pregant when i lost the 2nd pregnacy and they told me to wait 2 cycles etc.. you know yourself thats hard to do :)
I think i ovulate at weird times not too sure with my 1st pregnacy i ovulated day 4 of my cycle and that was a normal 30 day cycle and i was never on birth control before the 1st pregnancy..
So are you pregnant now?? congrats.. and how do you chart cervical position??

The first time my usual gp wasn't there. Ironically I had gone to the gp to confirm being pregnant but saw a locum, went back to work and started to bleed. When I went back he told me I probably hadn't been pregnant but I know I was based on the tests I'd done at home. The second time I didn't even bother going to the gp.

I have a little girl who's 1 on Sunday and due my second in April. There was 9 months between when I finished the pill and got pregnant with my daughter. I think it took that long for the pill to clear out of my system.

Getting as far as 11wks must have been really hard.

I got the Take Control of Your Fertility book and used the technique in it. I found it great both for information and practical guidance. I would chart whether my cervix was up or down and soft, like your lips, or hard, like your nose.

Hi Childminder, im having the same problems as you, I lost a baby in August last year at 13 weeks and my periods have been 28, 25, 26 and 30 days so far and as far as ovulating I feel I was ovulating before my last period and feel im ovulating again now, but because things have changed with my body since the August Im not even sure Im ovulating when I am. Im due to go for a CT scan in February as I have a lump in my stomach possible Hernia,so if there are any problems Im hoping they will spot it, if you are having problems with your periods and your worried I would go and see the doctor to make sure tings are ok. My friend was telling me to take primrose oil as that thickens your mucus. Best of luck to you in the future.

Primrose oil i must give that a try, fish oils are meant to be good for the fertility but im sure were all fine there.. i say it just takes a bit of time before things go back to normal :) best of luck and thanks again :)

a locum is a stand-in doctor that covers holidays or sickness.
