Afternoon Philips dudes, happy new year.

    Couple of quick questions:
    1. Have you got a special price for the 55pfl7606 for a long suffering, financially challenged previous customer? ;)
    2. I know this set has the passive 3d technology. Does this include the ability for 2 players to see two different screens in 3D (don't know the technical name), or is this just in the new 21:9's?

    Thanks guys.

    Nicola on behalf of Ash:

    Hey Soarer,

I've contacted Philips and I'm sorry to say they have told me they will not be bringing it into Ireland.

We are doing the 55PFL6606 but it does not do 3D. The largest passive 3D screen we could get for you at the moment is the 50PFL7956 21:9 screen.

This 50" does do the 3D gaming mode but you do have to buy the gaming glasses to go with. a Pack of 2 gaming glasses at the moment is retailing at €39.99.

Sorry about this. Let me know if the 50" may be something you might consider and I'll PM you a price.

    Thanks a mil, Nicola.

    Thanks for the reply Nic.

I'd be interested in the 50" 21:9 alright, but....
    1. Do they look smaller than a normal 50" 16:9 due to the aspect ratio? The reason I'm getting rid of my 46" is that it look a bit small in the living room.
    2. If I were to watch 16:9 on the 50" with the bars down the sides, what size would the picture be? Probably down around 40"?
    3. They're bloody expensive!:o

    Nicola on behalf of Ash:

    Hey Saorer,

The 50" dosn't really look smaller than a normal 50" as its wider. When you're watching a 21:9 movie its brilliant because your getting a much bigger picture overall. There is of course various modes to expand 16:9 imagery - pretty effective, or you can left it alone with black bars down the side if you like.

I can't find a side by side image of the 50" but check out the older 56" and you'll see what I mean...

The Passive 3D is also awesome on this set. We can give you a full demo on the 3D on the 47" 7000 series if you're about this weekend. (We're sold out of the 50" again :D ).

Looks lovely Nic, but tis a bit too rich I'm afraid.

I agree with you about the ambilight. I'm coming from the ambilight 3, so don't even want to drop down to ambilight 2!
