Can anyone tell me if the .308win cz 700 M1 sniper is allowed or even available in ireland. If not is their any other rifle that looks like this that is allowed??? Maybe i might have a better chance of getting a licence for guided missiles.Any help or comments thanks

i can't see why not it is only a bolt action, once you are a member of a range that caters for centerfire or you have a hunting licence for deer. you could get most rfd's to import one for you i would imagine.
here is something like it nice rifle a tad on the heave side you would'nt want to be lugging it around all day. you need deep pockets too.

If its just the looks that your hankering for what about a remmy 700 with an AICS? you could get it in a .223 if you were finding it hard to get a deer lisence.

i cant think of a reason why not. but if you cant find one there are plenty of rifles built in the same style as it

is this what you are talking about http://www.snipercentral.com/cz700.htm

what will you be using it for

Maybe Im thinking of the wrong guy but didnt you only just get your first 22lr not long ago? Perhaps you should focus on that first :)

With the kind of rifle your talking about now, the ammo is gonna cost you about €1.20 per bullet (or €6 every time you shoot a full magazine). I have no idea about the cz700, but the TRG the lads are suggesting is going to cost you a few grand.

If I were you Id stick with the 22lr for now and get good with it. Remember the skills you learn on the 22lr will transfer over very nicely to the 308 at a fraction of the cost.

BTW: if looks is what your after then you should look up the 10/22 its a 22lr rifle- but you can make it look very "pimped" :)
