Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Putting in my own hair dye?

    Hey guys.

Looking for a bit of help, advice here! My friend or mother normally puts in my hair dye for me, its bright red, and I've never once done it myself! I have very thick curly hair and use two bottles each time it's dyed. Unfortunately no one can do it for me this time around, so looks like I'll have to do it myself. Does anyone have any tips for putting it in so I don't do it all a**eways, or even videos? Sounds stupid I know, but I'm petrified I'll do it wrong!

hey Coco_lola, hate when your stuck having to dye your own hair!! what i do is section my hair into four and do each section, i alway do the roots first and comb through when the dye is in... and dont forget to wash around your face for any dye thats dripped, the instructions in the box are usually helpful to ! :)

Thanks Lola :) I just need to my roots mainly anyway, so I'll start with that, pop Vaseline on the face and neck where the hair meets, and hope for the best :D

I always part my hair in the middle and take a section at a time. I do the roots first.
I find around the forehead and ears to be messy so I always have face wipes ready.

It takes getting used to but you will find your own way of doing it- just don't dye the walls or carpet :D

and if you do theres always cif :) well for the walls anyway. get an old hairbrush that you dont use that much and a disposable shower cap if you have long hair.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about - dying everywhere but the hair! Its mainly the roots I need to do, so I'll use most of the bottle on that and spread the rest through my hair... how much should I be looking at putting on the top of my head?? Just enough to cover, or should it be particularly wet? The good thing is if I mess it up, it's red, and my hair is brown, so it won't be too noticeable, just as long as I don't get dye all over myself and look like I've been violently bludgeoned
