I know that the Cuirt literature festival often holds poetry slams during its week, but does anyone else know of anywhere that would hold these as a regular fixture? I would be interested in attending one.

There is the North Beach Nights Slam in the Crane Bar. Normally the last Monday of each month. These nights are qualifiers for a final normally held in December.

There is also Testify (poetry, music) in the Roisin Dubh, but it seems to have taken a brake for a while https://www.facebook.com/testifyroisindubh

Then there is the monthly Over the Edge readings in the City Library http://overtheedgeliteraryevents.blogspot.com/ - though not strictly poetry slam stuff.

The Galway Arts Centre normally holds monthly slams as well, which are qualifiers for the Cuirt Grandslam, so these will start again later in the year http://www.galwayartscentre.ie/cuirt/literature.html.

I'd recommend you sign up for the Over the Edge news letter. We have a lot of consistent literary events in Galway, so you should find something you like!
