"Since the last interview Jessica hasn't gained any weight." I'm pretty sure she gained 30lbs. 200 -> 230... Am I missing something?

    Jesus, the gunt on those.

That child probably has enough spare skin to hang glide to school.
Pure child abuse by an extremely stupid parent.

Just... how? How can any parent let a child get that bad? How?

If she couldn't sing the roof off, she'd never get out of the house.

It's just disgusting. How did social services allow it to happen? They had been involved with the case since the child was 2.

I once watched a programme, worlds fattest teenager or something like that, the amount of junk the mother would buy for him was just disgraceful, I don't even know how people can afford to buy that amount of food.

He was eventually admitted to hospital, the mother had to be banned from visiting because she was trying to sneak in loads of junk, I don't even think the teenager was asking her to bring it in, it was like she was trying to sabotage the progress he was making in the hospital, it was almost like a munchausen by proxy syndrome scenario.

    It seems crazy I know..
Social services allow far worse things to happen to children (as in are involved with the family but can take no action), this is partly due to staffing problems but over three years of looking into it myself it seems like they don't have the "power" in a lot of cases or there is a lack of evidence (being obese wouldn't be enough even another child having bruises has not been enough evidence in many cases), even if a social worker see's a child gain a huge amount of weight its still difficult to do anything about it as the parent pretty much owns their child and can get away with a lot.

As long as the child is happy and well looked after i don't see the problem
