Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whose face would you have on an Irish Mount Rushmore?

Bertie, Bono, Tubridy, Sineid O Connor?

I think I'd go for Hector, George Hook, Phil Lynott, and maybe even O' Bama.
Stick Christy Moore on their too.

As regards location, croagh patrick would be a good spot for it.

    Any other suggestions?

I'm watching episodes of Graham Norton now and I didn't even think of him! He would definitely be up there for me.
Not sure about the 'ward fellas.

It would have to be Jack Charlton for starting the country on the road to the Celtic Tiger.

If he does the same thing, Trap can go beside Jack.

The obvious choice isn't even on your list, Michael Collins.

For the craic Id put the cast of Father Ted up there, would look nice welcoming in the ships if you put it on the coast!

Realistically id like to see Michael Collins, James Connolly up there!

Either Gay Byrne or Brendan O'Carroll (dressed as Ms. Brown).

They are arguably two of the most successful, down to earth, intelligent, respectable and noble Irishmen, who have placed us proudly on an international map. Their contribution to society is unmatched. Never could another Irishman or Woman stand up and take their place as true citizens of brilliance.

    KIDDING! They're both shiiiiiiite...!

I have to agree with this one, Lemass is the single most under-acknowledged man in modern Irish history. I don't know of a single statue or memorial to this man, despite the fact that he did greater work to reform modern Ireland - for the better - than either De Valera or Michael Collins did. In my opinion, the only valuable contribution that DeValera made after becoming Taoiseach was actually Lemass's work in truth.

Lemass had real vision for Ireland, far more compatible with Dr Garret FitzGerald's than with Mr DeValera's. He was a wonderful policymaker, the only pity is that he became Taoiseach so late in his life.
