Suggestions for a sub €400 PC

My buddy wants to build a new comp. His budget is about €400, but of course less would be nicer. He only needs the PC, as he has the rest already. He really needs to be able to play Battlefield 3 on it. Can anyone give me a build for this kind of money. Thanks

You would struggle to build a basic pc with that budget, Nevermind one that could play bf3:/

if add 70eu to this build and get 6870, then op could get a pc which would play bf3 on high settings.

It wasn't till later that I should have said that he does have windows. I reckon he'd be able to use his own rom drive. I have a case I could give him. With Completionists' suggestion, it would work out at about the €400 mark. I know he uses a 500gb sata drive as an external storage, so maybe he could use that as a primary HD in the build, and get the card ShadowHearth suggested. What do ye think?

That sounds like a fine plan to me.

An i3-2120 + 6870 should have no major difficulty running BF3 on High (Perhaps even Ultra if you're on 1280x1024 or 1366x768)

Thanks partyatmygaff. Whatever about playing at ultra, he'd just like to play it online, and if those changes allows him to have a better gaming experience, all the better

What resolution monitor does he have? If its less than 1080p then the 6770 or even a 6670 would be fine, and bring the price down to €420

I don't know, but what I DO know is it's not 1080 anyways, so he'll be delighted with that build. Especially for the budget he has in mind. Thanks a lot

Just find out what resolution he is planing on playing. As there is big difference between 6870 amd 6770 when resolutions go higher them low ones.

If he will go for 6870 he won't have trouble connecting to any 1080p tv and enjoying good fps in games.

I'd say he'll get a good monitor in the future, but for now he'll have o stick with what he has. I suppose he could always upgrade then if he wished.

52FPS @ 1080p for BF:BC2. Not bad.
