Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Calf-rearing question about lime

Over Christmas I cleaned out the calf shed and covered the floor of it with lime to kill any disease. Is it any harm to leave the lime in it? I was wondering should I just cover it with straw when I bed the calves or should I wash it out first, as in, would it pose a danger if a calf ingested it?

    Thanks.

Would that disinfectant eliminate coxiellosis do you know? I had a few calves with it last year and the vet said better hygiene in the shed would stop it.
