What were the first and last silent movies in the era when talkies were yet to be released?

It seems The Story of the Kelly Gang (1906) was the first feature length silent movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feature_length

Mitch Hedberg: "Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something."

What was the last feature length silent movie.

There probably is no definitive answer to this. Alfred Hitchcocks "Blackmail" was made made around the time of the introduction the talkies. He had two versions of it. The silent one for those cinemas that did not have the equipment to show the sound version.

I read somewhere that some Asian country made silent films until the 1970s when they switched to sound.
