Excellent performance to win 1-0 lads. Bit shaky after we went 1-0 up after 15mins but we had played good football up to then and got control of it 2nd half again and limited them to very few chances and we had a couple of good chances ourselves. Very hard-fought game with noone getting much space on the ball but we worked very hard throughout to earn a solid 3 points. Particularly good performance from our back 4 (and 5 when you count Gary going into to stablize things after Ciaran's clash of heads).

Pity we don't get a chance to fight for the league title next week, but we've done well to make it this close and it'll be good to finish off with a win next week to take 2nd place. We lost the title with the 2 points given away in the last match before CHristmas after going into the lead very near the end, and SMH can also thank their keeper for that miraculous performance to keep it to a draw - we were far the better team that day and should've killed the game off but they fought hard for their draw and have been admirably consistent since then too so fair play to them.

Thanks lads. Ye probably heard the big cheer from our match when the whistle went at yours. We had a good strong squad this year, and after we settled down we played well. One of our losses was when we only had 8 bodies, and the other Monks loss was one where we threw it away to be honest. Today's match was a bit of a walkover as they started short also, so what goes around comes around.

Anyway as usual I think the league belied its "social" moniker, for the top teams anyway. A lot of good football played, and I hope ye agree the final table is a fair reflection.

    Roll on the Alexander Hotel!

Well done, well deserved league victory given your consistency over the course of the season, particularly given the points dropped with 8 men. Agree the top few teams have played plenty of excellent football....and we'll be right back at ya next season to see if we can win it off ye!

    Great win lads.Well done!

We all know now what needs to be done to win this years Summer League.

If we can can add 2 or 3 more good players to the Summer squad to make it stronger for when players are away on work, holidays etc etc we will be right in the mix again for the title.

Lets finish of the season with a good win next week.
