Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    just westlife, so nobody really.
    3 Members of westlife
    John Mc Cormack(famous tenor)
    Albert Reynolds(Taoiseach)
    Ray Mac Sharry(Tanaiste and Mep)

Same as. Like how the vast majority of famous alumni are 'former' whatever.

It's a big rugby school, so there's a long list of rugby players. But having never had any interest in rugby, I've never heard of any of them, except the one muppet who was in my year.

The best-known alumni are probably Dave Allen (comedian), The Coronas, Mike Murphy and Peter Lawrie.

No super-famous people and nobody notable really except for the above 4. Even the Coronas just barely make it into the "notable" category.

    You forgot Donal McCann ;)

Conor O'Shea and Girvan Dempsey are two of the rugby folk that spring to mind but there may be more. Like you I wasn't into the rugby either.

EDIT: I forgot to mention Dublin GAA player (football & hurling) Conal Keaney (maybe not quite 'famous' though).

he went to Good Counsel alright.

as did horse trainer Aidan O Brien, jockey Tom Doyle, and a load of Kilkenny hurlers and Wexford footballers and hurlers.

I think Robbie Keane and Richard Dunne went to mine. So I'm told.

Not unless they joined St Aidans (Robbie Keane -and Jason Gavin (another footballer) in Brookfield with KCS (Richard Dunne) in Killinarden ;)

I went to Aidan's but long before Keane, and the Hyland brothers (Pro Boxers) attended the same primary school I attended -again ,a looooong time before them.

........and so did that little 'Kevin' guy who used to be on 'The Den' on RTE2 lol

    Eileen Whelan (RTE Newscaster)
Mary Banotti and Nora Owen ( Politicians and Michael Collin's grandneices)
    Fionnuala Britton (Athlete)
    Darina Allen (chef)

Nothing too crazy really. There was a rumour that Terry Wogan boarded in my school as a kid but that was disproved by my yearbook committee a couple of years ago

Your primary school had a fanny?

Anyway, the only one of any note that I could think of is Siobhán Donaghy who was in the original line-up of the Sugarbabes.

The headmistress also had a TV drama written about her and was played by Julie Walters in it.

    Useless.
