We bid farewell to the late Stephen Madden this morning. It was very sad to have to say goodbye too soon to one of the greatest guys who ever picked up a gun. Stephen was a messer but he was great fun to be around and the world will be a duller place without him in it. As the priest said this morning, “the rest of us have acquaintances, Stephen had friends”. He had a fantastic ability to gel with people. Stephen fought his illness to the very end but he is at peace now. If there is a God up there, Stephen is sitting somewhere with a warm gun in one hand and a cigar in the other.

    R.I.P.

As Chipboard & Meathshooter have said, he was quite a guy to know. The massive turnout says it all with all his colleagues from the Airport Police (Dublin, Cork & Shannon) providing a fitting Guard of Honour, representatives from the Gardai, PSNI, the UK Police, American Police and Border Control, the Army Ranger Wing, and huge turn out of fellow target shooters from Northern Ireland (NITSA), the MNSCI from Offaly, Irish Target Sports (IPSC) and many many more friends.

A giant of a man with a heart just as big.....gonna miss you Big Guy...
