Would you wear clothing with the British Flag on it?

SO my wife is Indian...and was over there on a trip home.

she brought me back a jumper with a little patch of the British flag about 2cm by 1cm.

I said to her, I cant wear that with the flag on it ill get a different patch to cover it. (you cant just simply remove it).

The argument that ensued was unreal.

Just wondering if there is Irish ppl out there who would wear it and am I just being totally pedantic.

I have a pair of Reebok that have a small British flag on them. Couldn't care less. One lad made remark about it to me one day. My response to him was why did he support Man United if he was so set against anything to do with England etc. He shut up and never mentioned it again.

In fact, i gave up wearing reebok runners when they start putting the union jack on the side. Why would any irish person want to wear a british flag? (apart from the usual twats who feel a need to show how progressive (ie submissive) they are, but who gives a fúck about them!)

No i wouldn't and i wouldn't expect a British person to wear clothing with an Irish/German/French/'Insert random country here' flag on it.

I have friends that are british and they would question me as to why i was wearing clothing with a union jack on it.

That's completely different. I watch programmes and films from around the world. Likewise I read books by authors and use products from other countries but I wouldn't wear the flags of those nations.

Yeah, me too actually. Flags aren't really a good look though to be honest.

But I would definitely never wear the Union Jack on anything. Why? Because I'm not British, and if unless you are, wearing someone else's flag is just plain weird.

Wouldn't bother me at all. Think I had reebok runners at some stage that had a tiny union jack on them. Used to have a German Parka jacket as well.

I actually genuinely do not see why you'd have such a problem with wearing another nations flag. If you went to the carnival in Rio and someone gave you a t-shirt with the flag on it ...would you refuse to wear that?
