Anyone able to give advise on this one.
When dryer is switched on there is now a noise coming from Main Fuse Board. It is coming from the trip switch which suplies power to the Dryer socket. This has only been noticed in last while.

If its a buzzing noise, you will have to have the trip switch looked at, as it could be a loose connection which will burn away.

You could switch the switch off and back on to see if it stops the noise, but it should still be looked at.

It would be tricky to be certain the noise is from that trip switch anyway, it could be a loose/bad connection in another part of the board.

Try pressing the test button on the rcd and see does it trip , if not it should be replaced

Had a problem like this some time back and it turned out it was the main ESB fuse on the board (old house which had been recently rewired) which required replacing. Rang the ESB who came out and replaced it free of charge.

Had this fixed yesterday. Electrician could not find any fault with it. No burning or anything and typicial the noise was not there when he looked at it. But he changed Fuse/Trip switch out anyways to be on safe side.
