    proper cant view them when i open says i need to purchase some programme?

    Are you trying to open them on your own laptop? Do you have Powerpoint installed?

    What's the extension name of the downloaded file, the bit at the end? If it's ".PPT" or ".PPTX", it's a Powerpoint presentation. You don't need Powerpoint itself to read it, Microsoft has a Powerpoint Viewer you can download. If it's ".PDF", that's an Adobe Acrobat file, and you can download Adobe Reader. These applications are on all UCD computers, even the SUS ones in the Arts building).
