Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've just been looking at Pet World Uk and they seem to be a fair bit cheaper for the Applaws and Animonda than what I'm paying for it with Zooplus. I think I'll be shopping with them in future. Toby won't eat the Animonda carny at the moment, he seems a bit unsure about it but they all love the Applaws kibble. At the moment I'm feeding 4 at home and 1, maybe 2 potential strays at nearby apartment complex, so I need the best value I can get:)

Loads of pet stuff at Homestore and More. Sign up to their email/text thingy and it's all half price. Got some great beds for the dogs for next to nothing.

    Here's the link

    ^^^

Was in there today and went a bit mad, they've loads of stuff, last time they did pet stuff they only had bits and pieces, now they've loads of beds, toys, bowls, leads...Best bargain was stainless steel bowls for €1.25 each, decent size too 1.5litre capacity. Got a lovely bed for my foster doggies and a waterproof one for my pair and a set of access steps to the couch for my nieces yorkie who has a bit of trouble jumping now that she's older, they're not the most sturdy but they were only €12.50 and the yorkie weighs about 5kg so they'll do her fine.

I thought the stuff was great especially leads for €1! Which are handy to have! I resisted everything for once! They have the largest plastic beds for €11 which seem to be cheap!

All that stuff in Homestore & More looks great. I wish I actually needed some of it. ;)

Aldi have some pet items coming up in the special buys next Thursday. They have those great latex squeaky toys again - I'll definitely be picking up more of those as they last for ages!

How mad is that, I was going through all my receipts for pet stuff bought and found a receipt from last January when I bought a few of those! Was thinking I'd love to get a few more and must keep an eye out in Aldi:P.

Oh, but the large memory foam mattress isn't as a good a bargain as in homestore and more, it's reduced to €15 in their monthly offers. (link in the post at top of page)

Those latex toys are good, are they? I always assumed they'd be like most other latex toys, you know the ones that get shredded within a moment?
Hmm, if they're fairly rugged, a couple of them just might be bought
*note to self... Aldi is right beside Homestore & More in Drogheda... This is clearly some kind of sign!*

I actually think the noise that it makes added to it's longevity! It makes a grunt rather than a regular squeaky toy squeak so my pair were intrigued with this for a while. Also they're bigger than a ball so when they're lifted up they're not just as easy to get all in the mouth. Once the squeak gave up it was shredded, legs first!

Anybody know where to pick up a cheap food container, just so the food doesn't go stale. Like some cheap tupperware for 5-10kg of food.

I use the 10kg version and press out the air before closing it; it appears to contain the smell quite nicely :)

They're half price in homestore and more too!

From memory the 45 litre comfortably holds 15kg of food so the 35 litre would definitely hold it. They might have smaller options too.

*Disclaimer. I don't work for homestore and more.:D

When I brought them home first Benson was a bit scared..I put one down in the middle of the living room floor and squeezed it and he didn't know what to do! He ran over and jumped up on the couch like he does when he's a bit unsure of something. He nosed over and had a sniff after a few minutes and once Coco started playing he did too.

Aaaaaah look at the lovely dog hugging the kitten on the memory foam bed!!

Look like a bully to anyone else?

Out to HS&M - the dog cot was a little smaller than I was expecting but perfect for the puppy, got a plastic bed for her too (so we don't step on her), 2 mats for under/in front of their bowels to catch dribbles oh and a rope toy as well lol!! I felt bad when I got home for not buying 2 toys because Lucyfer robbed it off Bailey lol! :p

I got a pair of the memory foam beds for my GSD, as she is always flopping out of her nest bed, and I thought it'd be nice to give her the option of spreading herself out without any uncomfortable lumps and bumps.
She seems to approve, she is at this moment occupying every corner of the bed :D
    Fantastic value at €15 each.
I picked up some collar and lead sets for 99c each, just for rescue dogs that come in who need them. And a couple of squeaky soft toys: GSD is still tenderly carrying hers around, whilst Spaniel X inihilated hers in moments

I went up again yesterday and got the large chaise bed (Benson loves an aul neck rest) and the large puppy pen (just for the visiting smallies) and a car seat cover (not that I even have a car at the moment:p).

My foster girls haven't got out of the bed that I got for them the other day. Somehow I think they weren't used to creature comforts before.

They are heartbreakers, the cutest of the cute, and a pair of little characters. Hoovers for food, they do a little dance when I take the collars off when feeding and a lap of the kitchen afterwards to celebrate their freedom. They groom each other so the collars are on more than I'd like as they can't be trusted not to lick each others stitches even though they seem to show no interest in their own.

    Yes, HS&M.
No, they're not small at all! My GSD is a big one, 41kg, and there's ample room for her on it.
They are a little thin though, I bought two so I could put one in the car for her, but have the two of them one on top of the other for in the house to give her extra comfort.

And don't forget to fill out the form at the checkout (for email/phone alerts - give false ones if you don't really want to get them) and the price is cut in half.

Aldi have these great little led bicycle lights st the moment:

    https://www.aldi.ie/en/specialbuys/thursday-26th-september/products-detail-page/ps/p/micro-led-bicycle-light-set/

They make the perfect collar/harness lights for dogs. I attached one to Jess's harness for our walk tonight and it gives off just enough light to be seen but not so much that it's annoying. Best of all, the light is directed downwards instead of forwards, which makes it easy to pick up packages in the dark if you don't have a torch. :D

    HANDY!

(for a minute, I was thinking: what packages would she be picking up in the dark?!?!?!? :D:D bit slow this evening!!)

Not sure if this will work (I don't feed RC so didn't try it) but when I registered my pup's chip on fido.ie there was a link for a free bag of RC - http://offer.royalcanin.co.uk/fido/freebag2/en/

I don't know what type of dog you have but they are all qualified groomers.I doubt Petmania would hire anyone who wasn't qualified!
I don't use them all the time as I do go to another place, but my dog who is a long haired, thick coated GSD has been groomed by them a few times.
They have always done a great job on her coat and I have never had any problems.
