Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    All matches are safety matches

So how do I buy the non safe kind? Do they even exist and what's unsafe about them?

the non-safety matches were the ones that could be lit off a variety of surfaces, that you could strike the match against a stone and it would light for example.

safety matches can only be lit from the strip at the side of the box afaik that is the difference.

they did away with the non safety about thirty years ago.

Another brand I loved Tesco dropped is Rose's Lime Juice, you can still get it some places but need to look around.

Where can you get this? Have been looking around for this for the last few years to no avail

Me: It's ok I'm not thirsty anymore :(
Dunnes Coke was lovely. Remember you could get those tiny cans of it as well, they were like 26p or something at the time. Dunnes Coke is probably as cack as all the other ones now.

Mars to bring Treets back to the shelves

    By Mirror.co.uk 19/07/2009

A chocolate favourite is making a comeback after 21 years.

Confectionery giant Mars is bringing Treets out of retirement as part of the growing credit crunch trend for bringing back classic brands.

The chocolate peanut sweets - first launched in 1976 - will reappear in Sainsbury's at the end of the month.

Treets - originally available in peanut, toffee and chocolate varieties - were axed in 1988 to make way for M& M's.

Mars spokesman Bep Sandhu said they will continue to sell peanutflavoured M& M's.

She added: "The recession has meant people are staying in more and as 70 per cent of confectionery is shared, this launch is ideal."

    Britvic 55

Did a good few years as a barman and used to have one or two of these on morning shifts to give me a boost.

Very popular drink for hangovers too

It's like fizzy orange juice, it's the biz. There was a pineapple version too and that was even rarer

Have not seen it in pubs in years and years :(

How about ppppppick up a Penguin bar?

Club Milk bar - about a biteful but tasty.

Bulmers Cidona in the big brown flagon bottle.( returnable bottle for a few valuable pennies back then!)

Claddagh Mineral Waters Galway soft drinks.

Who remembers Val Joyce "Airs and Races" on RTE 1 radio?

And Larry Gogan's " Just a Minute" radio quiz ..... ahhh never mind, shure they were hard ones today.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

    Diet Cidona

I'd buy if it was around but for some reason they don't make it
Edit, and I've not seen a large bottle of Cidona in a pub for a long, long time

Virgin Cola, just to be a huge seller.
I read Richard Branson's book and he said it was liquid profit, cost feck all to produce and he was making lots of money off it. Where's it gone

Vending machines with Dunnes Stores Cola. Used to be the cheapest can you could buy. There's a reason you can't buy cans of it, it was vile
