If you're playing it with ramdomers, then that's your promblem right there. I never play co-op games with anyone other than friends. That way, I know how good/bad they are, and I know how much I can trust them when the action gets hot.

Not everyone has mates who want to play games, or even just specific games, and even if they did they might not be able to work around a schedule.
The AI in 5 was woeful. 4 was fantastic. Ashley was a pain but the escort part was manageable enough. It was done pretty well considering. I played 5 with the guy I was living with. We cleared it once and never looked at it again. It really wasn't very good at all. And the last boss fight was so bad, like a little kid thought it up.
I just can't take 6 seriously with that logo. I didn't need it pointed out either. I saw the announcement for it and thought it was a piss take.
The trailer looks real messy, I'll probably pass tbh.

If I didn't have mates to play it with, I probably just wouldn't buy a co-op game. But then again, that's just me. Each to their own.

Loads of games are co-op orientated these days. They're also single player but the co-op aspects butcher what could otherwise be a good game. You can play 5 single player in case ya didn't know. It's just terrible because of your partners AI. There are plenty of Resi fans that can't or maybe don't want to play co-op but still obviously want to play the latest big release, and they get shafted with a shoddier product.

Yeah, I know it's playable in single player, but it's really not much fun that way because, as you mentioned, the AI is rotten. Again though, if I didn't have friends that were interested, I personally wouldn't have bought it. I'm not denying that co-op in Res E 5 alienates a lot of fans.

just heard on gametrailers: 6 player coop ( i know mentioned here before )

    this makes me think:

i will want to play RE 6 so i will have to deal with 5 idiot A.I. or 5 IDIOT INTERNETZ.... oh god...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,792 ✭✭✭Gandalph

Just like in real life things are a lot less scarier if there is someone with you (unless that some one is a psychopathic killer), but I think playing with someone defeats the purpose of a survival horror game.
When I played 5 with my room mate we just ended up laughing at most the hideous creatures or even when I played it single player my thoughts were 'well if theres anything behind that door I'll let that b*tch deal with it she's got loads of ammo'
I want the scare factor in resident evil again, I remember sh*tting my pants when ever those long gangly armed monstrosities came for you in Code Veronica!

I will most definately be looking for people for co-op in RE6 if people want to plan in advance - I'll also be gagging to make some RE6 movies so having a full Irish squad of zombie destroyers could be fun all round ;)

so i guess, i am not invited... ah casual racism.... :p

I will only fully enjoy this game if they let me play on my own with no retarded RE5 A.I. ruining the experience, like RE4.
But I don't have much hope for this.

I'm still going to buy it though, damn it all to hell.

What a weird time for a random stranger to send me a video of RE3.5 (Basically a 40% completed game that got scrapped in place of the RE4 we have today).

Looking at it (Without headphones, bit busy so can't really 'get into it' but from a basic viewpoint) it looks more like a bastard child of actual RE4 and the older Mansion style RE's.

Full 3D but the visual style is very much like the photorealistic background + 3D model - As in it seems to look/play more like the older games than the 100% over-the-shoulder arcade style they're adopting now.

I've a feeling that if this ended up actually being RE4 it may have been a bit more appealing to the old-school fans or at least the people who are upset it's gone from older RE to the Arcade style... But if popularity of RE series before RE4 was decreasing, would this version have really got RE back on the map?

I don't think so, not with RE Remake and the Re Prequel (With Rebecca) being similar.

Either way, can't wait for RE6, should be fun.

you are such a fan of Re games and newer sow that video?!

i loved that 3.5. i would take it over RE4.

I love that RE4 trailer, and I'm sure I'd have enjoyed the game, but to me, it seems LESS Resident Evil than the 4 we got.

Yes, it was going to deal with the progenitor virus, and Leon still did get infected and this one seemed to have some pretty awesome looking areas. But, and this is a big but... Ghosts with hooks, that you can shoot? Haunted/possessed toys? Seems more like it belongs in Silent Hill than Resident Evil.

For all those complaining about not being able to walk and shoot. Never bothered me though.

    http://www.insidegamingdaily.com/2012/02/15/resident-evil-6-allows-for-simultaneous-walking-and-shooting
Tired of tank-style controls in your Resident Evil? If so, Resident Evil 6 might be right up your alley, as the creators have announced that you’ll be able to walk and shoot simultaneously when the game launches later this year.

In addition to your character being able to move and use weaponry (like a typical video game character), it turns out that zombies can get their hands on weapons as well.

    Oh dear.

Moving on, we’ve also learned that the game will take place in the fictional Chinese town of Lanshaing in the year 2013.

Returning characters include Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy, among others. Check out the official trailer for more tidbits, if you haven’t already.

RE6 is slated for a November 20th release date for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, followed by a PC launch later on.

    [via Metro UK]

Although, I don't really like where they've sourced this story.....Metro UK? Really?

I hate the way that so many places are 'reporting' this. The Chris part of the game is set there. The Leon and Sherry/Mystery merc parts are set elsewhere.

The franchise is now offically dead to me ...

Apperently survival horror doesnt sell and capcom once again want to make it more like call of duty than a survival horror game ..

I saw recently Capcom saying Survival Horror is dying but didn't actually think they wanted to make it like COD!

If they want an action game to make some money, then make a new IP, don't ass f*ck it until you can't recognise it anymore.

Actually feel like boycotting resi 6 after that statement. I mean, it could still turn out to be a good game but with the trailer and the shooting while sliding and sticky cover, I just highly doubt it.

    Dear Game Developers

Not everygame has to be like Call of Duty.

    Sincerely

    RogerWilco1982

Seriously though, I'm sick of games trying to emulate one first person shooter. First of all my beloved Battlefield had to try to be COD. I didn't enjoy playing Battlefield 3 and wnt back to Bad Company 2, which is still reasonably popular with the community.

I'm very dissappointed to see resident Evil go down this path. I remember when Resident Evil was an atmospheric survival horror game. You wanted to keep playing to see what happened next. Resident Evil 1 & 2 on PSX are amongst my favourite games of all time. :(

Resident Evil 6 : Left 4 Duty

First Konami piss all over the Silent Hill collection and now we have this rubbish.

Yes capcom survival horror is dead, it's dead because you and your money hungry ways are killing it!!!

Top comment on the vid made me lol

"A truly horrifying and unpredictable antagonist, he uses a VHS player with a flat screen HD TV. There is no predicting what this man is capable of..."

Not even bothered to watch the new vid, will only be getting this as co-op was a laugh with the GF in RE5, pity the game was crap.

I take it this will have full co-op as well?
