I didn't realise that my phone went to the start of this thread instead of picking up at last post. I was getting ready for some fisticuffs. Disappointed.

Kris in Wildcat ink did an unbelievable american football themed tattoo awhile back, might be worth looking at his portfolio!

There's picture of the tattoo on the I'll show you my thread couple of pages back, it's post number 126, I didn't know how to link to it lol

Kris has left Wildcat and is now working in Australia I believe.

As it says in the title really. I have a large area of old scar tissue that I'm thinking of getting tattooed and I'm looking for recommendations for someone who is experienced in covering scars. Thanks in advance.

It was a pretty nonsense comment to be fair, just because they have a lot of guest artist coming to them does not make them "the main tattoo place in Ireland" While they may be your personal favorite it is not the main place for tattooing! the country is currently awash with very talented artists across a wide range of styles and I dont think any shop could claim to be the main attraction for the whole country!!

Dublin has several highly recommendable tattoo shops: Colourworks, zulu, hydraulix, snakebite, skin city, Wildcat

If you are travelling around Ireland there are other shops that would be highly recommended also

    JMD's body Art in Waterford

    Utopian tattoo tribe in Kilkenny

    Love/Hate tattoo in Cork

    All Star Tattoo in Limerick

    AWOL tattoo in Galway

Thank you!!! That helps a LOT!

    Hi,
I'd like to thank all partecipants of this forum, I read the all treads and it is super informative.

My Q: I am looking to do my 2nd tattoo and my husband his 1st.
We both want to do Egyptian hieroglyphics on the wrist. We need a very neat line. Any advice for the best arist in Dublin for this job?

    Thanks in advance!!

I am worried that some artist might not be interested because because it is not a big job... But for us it is so important that we want the possible best:-)

Nataliee in Addiction in newbridge is brilliant in my opinion really works with your ideas

Wow, I thought there'd be at least one place that had tattooed over scar tissue before.

Each person is different, and so is each scar. You'd be best off heading into the likes of AWOL tattoo, and having a chat with an artist to see if they could help you.

    Hi guys

Really looking into getting a black and grey themed sleeve and would love some suggestions as to where would be the best place to go? This will be my first tattoo and I've been told to start small, but f**k that I wanna go big lol. I seen a tattoo done by Niki Norberg that blew me away and wanted something similar if possible but unsure how to upload here.

Depends entirely on the style of tattoo that you want to be perfectly honest.

I can't work out how to post pics using my phone. If you type niki norberg into Google and select images it is the 3rd tattoo shown. Hope that helps?

If you liked Niki Norberg, then Remis is probably your best bet in Ireland.

Another suggestion - I'd take a look at Matthew James. He's based in the UK but guests out of Dublin Ink quite regularly, he might be what you're after.

Thanks for your replies guys. Having checked everyone out I sent a Facebook msg to Remis with pic of the design I was interested in. Just got a reply asking to e-mail inga for an appointment in may/june. Gives me plenty of time to save :)

Remis is actually taking bookings for May and June now, if you can actually get a hold of him (ie: suggest an idea he wants to do).

It's the most referenced photo of all time, you don't even really need to show it to him, just say Niki Norberg, he'll be sick of seeing it just like the rest of the artists.

It's the number 1 top voted tattoo on reddit. It's also the first image that comes up when you google 'tattoo sleeve' into google.

I'd actually go for Marcin Sonski if that's what you're looking to replicate. He's in Skin City now.

Damn those are sick. Yeah I'm sure remis meant this year otherwise he would have said but I'm still waiting on a reply from inga.

I sent pic to Belfast City skinworks who replied a few minutes ago. Basically it was a pic of a digital counter that showed 413725.....Under it they wrote "this is how many times this tat has been requested or similar to this design" and pretty much to come up with my own design.

I plan on making changes like removing the eye and burning candles on the shoulder.

Ha ha, that's gas. Yea I've been in two separate studios getting stuff done when people have come in with a photo of it just in the hours I was there. It's an amazing sleeve but having it thrust in your face to replicate day in day out must get tiring.

You'll get quality original work from Marcin or Remis anyway. Safe hands there.

would Marcin have a similar waiting time for an appointment? And do you have a rough idea how much this would cost?

I'd doubt it. But you're getting a short wait with Remis is it's 3/4 months.

Pricewise I wouldn't want to guess. Look to have at least 2K.

Hi- im looking to get a religious tattoo of Michael the Archangel- anybody any ideas of a tattooist in Dublin or Kildare that specialises in this type of work? thanks in advance

  • Registered Users Posts: 73 ✭✭Mickles_86

Belfast City Skinworks have invited me to come in to chat about a design for my sleeve. I hear Tommy Gunn is pretty good, has anyone had any work done there?

Calvin & Hobbes is 30 years old this year, I want to get something done with them as they have been a huge part of my life.

Any recommendations for artists in Ireland that could help me out.

Great idea. Where are you looking? There's a few that could do a good job with that. Rob Mulligan and Jack Mangan off the top of my head.
