    well the net spend is always important.

    but the worst thing about Hodgson was his attitude, from the moment he took the job he downplayed everything and made it seem acceptable to be mediocre and get beaten 3-0 by Man City in his second game when we'd won there the two previous seasons and describing Northampton as formiddable opposition it at times felt like the latter days of Houllier's reign when it was obvious he'd lost all reasoning. Like Hodgson tried to compare managing Liverpool as the same as managing Orebo and Helsingborgs in the 1980's and used the same tactics. In hindsight Kevin Keegan would have done a better job
