Does anyone here have experience with buying games online from an English retailer like http://www.shopto.net/, http://www.gameplay.co.uk/ or any other shop? and getting the game on launch day or day before.?

I'm looking to buy the ME3 collectors edition.

Ive known people who bought off Shopto and received the game before launch day. If you want guaranteed delivery though your better off using an Irish retailer.

Are there any irish game retailers online that do the same service? The ME3 collectors edition isn't able to be pre-ordered in the shops near me anymore. They ran out :P

usually at least €10 or more difference than the shops
but be aware that some have delivery charges
the likes of Coolshop, Zavvi, The Hut, Play and Asda don't charge for delivery

Well yes and no - a friend recently bought skyrim for 360 on the hut and because it was shipped from Jersey (or somewhere) he was hit with an additional tax charge which knocked the price back up. This is bloody disgraceful - maybe there's some small print on the site somewhere but you need to treat purchases from there as if they're outside the EU - and anything you buy can get hit.

Sendit (which I used to use a fair bit) now has a hidden £1.99 delivery charge per item (ffs - if it's per item why not just add it into the item's price and be transparent in your pricing)

play.com I now find extremely hard to use - looking for new cheap games that I might like - as it's full of stuff from third parties (which I can't filter out - I WANT TO BUY GAMES FROM PLAY.COM !!) most of the stuff is used and they don't deliver to Ireland - is it too much to ask just to let me shop for stuff that play.com actually sell (yes it is! - I asked them and they explained to me the added value of the extra choice and they'd no intention of just letting you see what they had to sell).

So what online stores do others actually use - are any good for getting new games cheaply - especially older ones for 360?

I used to buy stuff from play and zavvi but their postage takes about two full weeks on average to get to my door. Found amazon.co.uk to be much faster and great prices. I'm also a guy who can wait for the first price drop on releases

Amazon are fantastic. I believe they have a warehouse in Dublin hence the really quick shipping times. Superb customer service too.

Zavvi is only good for games that you are buying with no rush to play.

I newer ever trust any online shop for new releases I want to play now though...
