Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My extremely sensitive dry skin is driving me crazy and towards bankruptcy :( I've tried every cleanser and moisturiser from the middle range (€10-20) brands and I've also tried Lancôme, Clinique and Clarins but I can't seem to find anything that suits my skin. I either break out straight away, break out after a few weeks of use or I won't break out but the moisturiser will still leave me with patches of dry dull skin :( Can anyone recommend something that will leave me with clean bright soft skin???? I've heard of a new Zealand brand called trinity that's available here, it's supposed to work wonders but it's fairly expensive and I'm not willing to fork out another €100 on something that may or may not work....

Have you tried la roche posay? They have a range for every type of skin. I have pretty sensitive skin (though not as bad as you) and I love it, a girl in work would be like you and she uses it too. The dermatologists where we work apparently always recommend it. Maybe find a pharmacy that sells it and have a chat with them. Get them to give you samples first though, no point buying it until you're sure it's for you.

I have a tub of moisturiser form the Lacura range in Aldi. I am finding it less harsh than a lot of the dearer brands. I have a sampe pot from No7 Boots also that I'm finding is gentle on my skin.

I've tried the aldi and no7 but they both brought me out in a pustule type rash :( I might head into the chemist and ask for samples of the Roche possay stuff, I've seen it advertised but never had the courage to splurge on it :D

It's actually not as expensive as you would expect. I pay €18.50 for my moisturiser, it's hydraphase xl, has spf15 and UVA protection. I think my friend uses nitric or something but not sure how much that is. I use the physiological make up remover which is really mild.

I've gone through lots of ranges as well, Decleor really suited my skin but i can't afford it any more :( La Roche Possay didn't work for me at all. I've tried some cheaper alternatives and have recently found the Green Angel range and love it, cleanser was €14, creams are €25 and they have an offer at the moment where if you buy 2 products you get a free night cream. I've been using it since November with no problems, going through a really stress filled time right now but skin looks and feels great :D

This is the website but the products are in chemists around the country - http://www.greenangel.com

Try dermalogica I have sensitive skin it's not as severe as yours but similar dermalogica has worked wonders you can get free skin mapping done in salons and you can get samples as well. The skin mapping will tell when products you need.

I'd also suggest the eucerin skin cream range. the ones without the hylauronic acid in it. I use the q10 night cream it's unoerfumed nice and thick and works to leave my skin soft and moisturised but not greasy. It's about sixteen euro and lasts me ages

I use silcocks base when my skin is sensitive, Also Vichy do a good sensitive range.

Vichy always works for me and it's pretty reasonable (and often on 3 for 2 etc.). Pharmacies also usually have free samples they give out so you can try before you buy. Anything by Simple destroys my face despite all it's blurb about being super pure yada yada. It's pretty much trial and error when your skin is sensitive.

I have super sensitive skin too. Been trying everything for years like you, finally faced up to the fact that it has to be silcocks base and aveeno.

i can't use a lot of moisturisers either, but i have to say this one does it for me
    http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/skin-care/moisturisers/641-nivea-visage-oil-free-moisturising-fluid
    it's very light

failing that, try one of those dermalogica or yonka brands

I've tried Vichy, yonka and Nivea. I also tried the aveeno which surprisingly worked great as body lotion but still brought my face out in a rash :( I've been eyeing up the green angel range in my local chemist for a few months now, it's reasonable enough so I was curious whether it'd be any good..... Haven't tried the dermalogica.

I guess I'm off on a sample finding mission :) thanks for all the suggestions guys :D

Avene Facial Spray is also meant to be great at calming super sensitive skin, and +1 for La Roche Posay

You sound just like me.. it is so frustrating. I had found the perfect (well, it was greasy but I wasn't allergic to it) moisturiser - Vaseline repair and relief balm, but now it seems to have been discontinued. Only one week since I ran out and I tried Neutrogena stuff, now have a rash on my face and feel like screaming! Back to square one, have tried everything.

Looks like pure vaseline is my friend until the reaction clears and then I'm not sure.

ive very sensitive, but healthy skin, i never even wear make-up as my skin breaks out, but i use simple, its fairly decent, only problem is its got no smell, so i use sanex too sometimes. what i would reccomend would be MooGoo, it was hard enough to get a year ago but its in a lot of chemists across dublin now, check out there website, its very good and doesnt irratate my skin,

Edit: also i have Keratosis Pilaris, which i diagonised through the website, i had been to my doctor, several health stores and pharmasists about it and was prescribed a steroid cream by my doc, it done nothing. but the moogoo has made it a million times better, you wouldnt know i had it too look at my arms

Ah im just after finding this beauty area, thread thing tis great!!! :D

Senistive skin is a bakes, I am all for one on the roche posay. It may seem expensive but it does last for ages. I used to always use johnsons until they changed something in their product that made it rub into little balls if you put makeup over it, so was stuck and my skin went to the pots. Was just about to go down the whoel clearasil route as the spots would not go away and got a few samples of the posay and never looked back. I wouldnt say much for the eye cream, but the toner, face wash and creams are great.

Also is my skin is really really dull and tired looking i put some coconut oil on it, I just use the stuff you get in the chemist the white pot of it, it works wonder on anything.

Homemade remedies are better than the chemical products. You can make homemade products easily and they are economical also. Make a paste with red sandal powder and coconut milk and apply on the face for soft skin.

I feel yous pain!! I have super sensitive skin too and found it a nightmare to find something that I didn't have a reaction to! Tried almost all of the products mentioned above, but I even ended up with a breakout from one of the dermalogica products! I now use only mineral make up (Glominerals) whick I find fantastic and has better coverage than the Jane Iredale or the bare inerals and I recently discovered a skin care range made by the same sompany called glo therapeutics. Fantastic doesns;t come close!! There's a salon in the Merrion Shopping Centre in Dublin called GLo that specialises in their products. I'm not from Dublin, but went there once for a consultation to see what they recommended and have been buying online since.

That said, my aunt goes to a dermatologist and they recommend the La Roche Posay products all the time.

    Best of luck finding something!!

Vaseline is grand if you dont use too much.

I am allergic to almost everything and it gets so frustrating. Like most of you's I went through tonnes of products trying to find the perfect one to get nice soft skin. Turns out the only things that will work for me is L'oreal Perfect clean and Emulsifying Ointment from the chemist. They have really worked well and I am delighted as they don't break the bank.

I tried the Roche posay one and I broke out in a blister rash.

Have you tried Avene products? My mum has skin just like you do-super sensitive and most products give her rashes but the Avene stuff doesn't do a thing to her and its very calming and soothing.

I use Aveno eye makeup remover its great doesnt irate my eyes also heard they do a great cleanser like cetaphil and they have a great mist as well i heard.

I have terrible sensitive skin and at the moment im using steam cream as my day moisturiser and cetaphil cream (that I bought in the UK dont think its available here - well not in boots anyway) I think the steam cream is pretty natural but it works for me.

Also Aveene are great I use the brightening eye cream and I just love it. When I've run out of my other moisturisers I'm going to get Aveene cream.

I use jergens on my body I find it doesnt irate me

I also was quite shocked when I discovered no 7 heavenly hydration mask. its a moisturing mask that works wonders for me. I'd air on the side of caution with it tho as it stings my skin but just works amazing at sorting my skin out.

I mix bio oil into all my creams for added moisture I love it and sometimes I put in other oils depending on the state of my skin. I used to mix bio oil with silocks base just to makeit easier to work with and it worked well for me for years. Also boots do e45 type moisturiser with a pump thats great as well absorbs easily and is not to greasy

Ohh the joys of sensitive/dry skin!
