Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Skip to 34 seconds onwards. The beginning is just waffling commentary. The rest is great.

The screen shot if the video looks like she's wearing a cheerleaders uniform.
I'll assume I wasn't the only one thinking she'd have a very short skirt on...

No mention of braking distances , wet or dry in above video so it's very misleading.

Most of any cars braking(fwd rwd awd)is above 70% through the front wheels ,

so therefore new tyres on the front make more sense when it comes to shorter better braking distance wet or dry.

The sheepish lookin' head on the driver after the smack! :D No airbags deployed I notice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    It was too slow.

The driver didn't look confident at all - he "floored" it every time he saw a straight.

Funnilly enough - nobody got hurt. Even the glasses were just fine. This is the first thing you check after crashing a car:D

Well it's obviously in the wet. And I wouldn't think there is much difference in performance between new and half worn tyres in the dry(half worn would possibly have a little better grip). Breaking distances yes would no doubt be better in the wet with newer tyres on the front. Car control in the event of aquaplaning through a corner is what the video is showing, which seems a lot better with the newer tyres on the rear. Even moreso under breaking.

Anyone subscribe to Drive+ on YouTube? Not very impressed with it so far considering it's a paid channel.

He floored it through the corner. What an idiot. First thing you learn about a RWD car.
Pity to see Ferraris as nothing but playthings for rich tossers to wreck.

I have and I can't think of a better way to spend £2.49, the content is the same as the Drive channel last year they just need a way to fund making more videos.

It's £2.49 a month, or around £30 a year. I thought they would have longer videos etc. Maybe they will in time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭ARGINITE

I understand that it's £30 for the year, I'm still happy to pay that for a similar amount of content as last year. The content they product is of good quality and cost money to make, I'm happy to fund it.

Video says $38,115,000 but the winning bid was $34,650,000?

Probably the auctioneer's commission. In this case ~10%. Some auction houses take from the seller, in this case the buyer takes the hit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,381 ✭✭✭mb1725

I was just thinking about the commission as the auction was on. Good job they went for a percentage. Mad money all the same.

That is so freaky, it makes you wonder could it be fake?
Looks pretty real, but the sound is just wrong for some reason.

I thought it might be fake to but I was showing one of my customers who's a biker and he said one of his mates had a similar accident and the near exact same thing happened but he didn't land on his feet but was left hanging onto the roof and pretty much fine.

The physics of it do make some sense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

This one claims to be the original. I think you can hear the bike hitting the car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

I replayed that a few times now, just as he does that amazing gymnastic leap hand stand move. I'm kinda questioning the authenticity of it though, it just seems so perfect. Right on cue with the music, positioning of the cars, the stunt itself and reactions.
