Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unmarked ramps like that can be hard to see, kinda sad people wouldn't get the authorities to the scene to restrict the road until it's fixed.

    Edit!
Just looked for part one of this video and found it's not the only one of those bumps they added.
And apparently calling the authorities won't do much good, as it's not a mistake and they requested they be this high. The response they gave when contacted by a news outlet was along the lines of "won't somebody think of the children". Those car launchers are lethal. Apparently the speed limit in Jersey city is 25mph but you would probably still ground out at that speed.

I know this is not really motors related but since there is a car involved I thought I would post it. Very lucky nobody got seriously hurt.

That's the problem with Yank Tank pickup trucks.
Engine at the front, drive to the rear, sod all weight over the driven wheels, so all those imposing looks and V8 thunder don't translate into actual pulling power. A Land Rover would have pulled that out easier.
Though, having said that, that thing was stuck pretty good, anything short of a tank would have struggled.

Yeah i think the deep tyre needed to be lifted out with a digger ect first.

These clips are from June this year, some good ones though so I've subscribed as I think it's better than my usual source of Russian dashcam clips.

Exactly that, but I would say it doesn't make too much of difference.

I've read the comments on that, let's just say the majority advocate some kind of physical violence, i.e removing the occupant of that car and "educating" him/her on the finer points of road manners or pushing them out of the way with the emergency vehicle.

and rightly so .... it would be ironic if the driver got beaten to within an inch of her life and the ambulance to cart her off to hospital was delayed by a similar idiot driver

There is also the usual reply of "he acted absolutely correct in not breaking a red light and entering into a potential risky situation".
Of course if you do hinder an emergency vehicle in Germany, you leave yourself open to prosecution, but if do do move and get flashed, you won't be fined as you where facilitating said emergency vehicle, so that's that argument down the toilet.
There where a few threads on exactly that subject and I can't see how anyone would say they won't move unless they where trolling.
I have seen people freeze rigid if faced with an emergency vehicle behind them, so my guess is, mostly it's to do with the driver panicking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

The driver only needed to move few inches forward and to the right. He would barely cross the line to let the "noisy red truck" to get through.

How can you be so blind and deaf is beyond me.

So stupid that there should be a new definition created just for him.
