    Hi friends, Bold Puppy is looking for the following vehicles for using in a reconstruction for a TV series we are making. Any leads you could provide or even better if you know someone who has a car that fits, we would be most grateful to hear from you. The vehicles are as follows and are in no particular order;
Grey Austin A40 70's if possible
Black Ford Cortina Mk 2 70's if possible
Brown Daimler Jaguar (Old Jaguar would suffice) 80's
Yellow Ford Escort (80's if possible)
Small red Fiat - imagine Uno back in the 80's
    Opel Cadet
Old Army Land Rover Jeep (green) 80's
Old Garda Squad Car - 70's or 80's

How soon do you need these? You would probably find all of the above at one decent sized classic car show but the season doesn't really kick off until April or so.

If a car was available , who would drive it , would it be insured by the production company , how long would it be required for and what expences would be paid ? and would your company pay for the use of a suitable car?

Impossible. Ceased production in 1967 iirc.

Not sure if anyone contacted these guys after this post but to save you wasting your time, I PM'd them with a suitable car and they didn't even bother replying.

I think the fact the couldn't spell some of the car names was a bad start :)

Thanks to all those who responded to our post
Sincerest apologies for not getting back sooner, we are only a start up company dealing with a mountain of work at the moment, so please bear with us.

MCMLXXV thanks for the tip, we require these vehicles during the second half of Feb and early March. We require different vehicles as listed on different dates depending on the reconstruction to be conducted. Any particular car is only required for a single days shoot.

bbsrs That would depend on the car owner, most of the vehicles are only required to be stationary in the shots. Each vehicle is only required for a single days shooting depending on the reconstruction being done. Yes we would be willing to pay expenses for a suitable car. Any advice on what the going daily rate would likely be?

red sean thanks for the info, our research is for an incident that happened in the 70's so obviously the car would have been a few years old at the time I guess.

gn3dr please check you inbox, I finally got the chance to reply today, sorry for the delay

I think the isurance would be an issue , normal insurance policies only cover for social , domestic or pleasure and not for hire or reward .

Hard to suggest a daily rate depends on the owner and the car I guess.

Or if you watch 'The Iron Lady' there's a car in one if the scenes from her early life with a 90s english age related plate.

Sure we could always give them a Loan of a Reg Number and a Book if required  ;):D.

If the cars are static the plates can be changed temporarily to suit.

...if it's for a reconstruction, surely there's a suspect reg involved...or partial even.....hell, you could just invent one.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

It's bad enough getting these excuses from big business. Being a start up is all the more reason to respond to people, especially when asking a favour. That's a very bad footing to start off on.

I like your website btw :)
