    It should be specified in the lease. There's no rule either way... not sure what's standard practice.

    I think it would depend on the length of the tenancy. If you're only in the property less than a year or so and it needs emtied then I would expect the landlord to foot the bill.

    However if you're a long term tenant and have been there a good number of years, I would say it's a tenants responsibility.
