Really? I would agree wholeheartedly with this. Different type of players, but imo one is top class and the other is, as Dunphy would say, a 'brainless winger'.

But anyway it's not my club, so maybe OT...

Nasri really flattered to deceive last year (and I'm not just saying that because I'm bitter!). He was completely anonymous when the going got tough, despite some top class performances against Fulham, Blackpool, etc. in the earlier part of the season. His goals return was good (10), but Gervinho has already surpassed him in assists (he only chipped in with 2)

    Luis Suarez is a racist.

Paul Sturrock in a hot tub. Your argument is invalid.

    Sagna is just so-so.

    Vermaelen is a brilliant defender.

    Koscielny is a crap defender.

    Arsenal need a defensive midfielder.

Arshavin has that moment of magic that can change a game.

    Walcott will come good.

Chamakh is a battering ram style CF.

Vermaelen is an excellent defender and I would go as far as saying that a fit Verm would get into any team in the Premier League. Maybe the problem is that you think people believe he is the only good defender at the club?

These type of threads are good because posters who watch their clubs games week in/week out should have a lot more information and knowledge than posters who watch 10 - 15 matches a season and some highlights.

Anyway, based on what I saw last season, I rate Nasri as World Class, one of the most composed on the ball players in the EPL - maybe only Silva and Modric being better.

What I've seen of Gervinho this season, he seems to have good physical attributes - pace and strength. He can dribble well but sometimes you get the impression he doesn't have a plan. His game intelligence is quite poor and his final ball/finishing is inconsistent.

For me, Nasri is a £25-30m player in the current market, whereas Gervinho is at most a £10m.

Again let me state that this is based on what I've seen for them in an Arsenal shirt and I'm willing to be dissuaded by those who have watched more. I know Nasri hasn't quite hit his stride at City, but I believe next season he will be a far more influential player there.

    He's a good defender. He's a brilliant footballer.

Koscielny is a better defender than Vermaelen.

    Frank Lampard is past it.

Petr Cech is not a top class keeper anymore

    John Terry is a racist

    Torres contributes nothing

    1) Andy Carroll is underperforming (that really is his level of performance)

    2) English players generally take less time to settle at a new club than Johnny Foreigner

    3) Owen Coyle is an advocate of attractive football

    4) Harry Redknapp is a chancer

    5) It's not possible for England to win a World Cup/European Championships

I'm a Liverpool fan but I'm surprised no Arsenal fan has mentioned Song. He gets a bit of a slating from other fans but hes class. A bit like Lucas(Lucas is better though ;))

Anderson is at least as good as Lucas. - That's an argument on some thread at the start of the season I read*

*Disclaimer: I follow neither side, I just thought that argument is ridiculous and was at the time.

Ditto for Roberto Martinez. He is hailed as some sort of footballing mastermind by so many. Yet every week, he has two of the worst central defenders in the Premier League passing the ball amongst themselves at the back, until they inevitably make a mistake and concede a goal. When the team loses, the guy then often comes out and has the cheek to say that results aren't important, or that the performance was very positive.

^He did start it all at Swansea though who've been praised to high heavens suddenly.

    That Barca players all dive

That Messi isnt the greatest player of all time

That Barcelona are not the greatest side of all time

That Busquests isnt the best defensive midfielder in the World

That Barca dont play the most attractive football

That being able to pass the ball is boring

Rooney isn't the best active English player in football

    Berbatov is lazy

    Nani is overrated

    Rafeal is a defensive liability

Chicarito is more than a poacher

I'm not even going to touch the other ones but the bolded parts are not "false perceptions" because they are completely subjective. Some people do find Barcelona boring to watch. It is a perfectly valid, subjective opinion.

The 'Vidic gets roasted be Torres' one is the biggest false perception in football

That one pass that Michael Carrick made in the FA Cup confirms that he is a top, top player.

    Messi never dives.

Erm... maybe not as much as some of his other pals, but yes I can indeed confirm that Messi does dive.

    Ireland:
That Ireland has the worst players ever and we are forever indebted to trapattoni for qualifying

Ireland don't have the players to play good passing football(I don't mean play like Barcelona)

    McGeady is rubbish

    Luis Suarez is a racist.

    YAWN.

And that is coming from a by the day more and more dejected and despairing Liverpool fan (although I use the term loosely, post Hodgson/ Torres treatment I could care less anymore how they do)

    Get over it.

Berbatov is lazy Was true not anymore though

Rafael is not good enough too early to judge, i think he is decent

    Carrick is terrible true

Vidic sucks v Torres kind of true

De Gea is crap not crap, just dodgy at times but otherwise good

Welbeck is average at best not true i think at his best he can be better than rooney

Hernandez is a great footballer hernandez is good

Nani is an overrated donkey not true, although he isn't in his previous form

Lindegaard is a great goalkeeper, much better then De Gea Not great but a more realiable goalkeeper which is what you want

    Loads really

For some other ones I have noticed

Liverpool : Lucas isnt very good he is good enough, not unreal but good enough
Arsenal: Koscielny is a terrible defender was, but has improved a lot
Chelsea: Torres is ****e not true he has played well, good shots, sets up goals, he only has the occassional sitter (like any striker), its just goalkeepers have a good game on him and make class saves but only when they play against torres
City: Adam Johnson should be starting every game he should move because he is a very good player
thats my opinion i support arsenal
